Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

Congratulations Liza!! She and her team believed and worked so hard to get their act together. Now she won a GP competition again and going to GP final. Wishing her best!!

Though many seem upset about the competition, I am pleasantly surprised by Liza's performance. I felt this wonderful sense of interest in watching her presentation like it was a good movie drawing me in slowly. Her jumps had wonderful height, symmetry and beauty and her arms had a wonderful flair on exit, reminding me of Irina Slutskaya, who I like. Is she really on 18 years old? She seems incredibly mature in her delivery like she's 23 or 24.

Her musicality and wonderful plasticity in the step sequences really drew my attention in. She seems to be quite a good dancer with nice subtle, serpentine movements that reminded me of Arabian dance. I also thought of a snake charmer during the performance. The loose veiled clothing also conveyed a sense of mystery and intrigue that matched the movements. Her choice of music and presentation are really fresh and unique to me, and though she does lack flexibility in the spins her maturity and expression compensate for this, in my opinion.

Congratulations to Liza! I want to watch the FS right now, but I feel like I should save it as a pain-reliever after the men.

With one thing or another I managed to miss all the competitions today - and I'm now sitting down to catch up, starting with the ladies. My intention is to watch all in skating order - but I couldn't "help" myself, and started with Liza. She was wonderful! Congratulations Liza! :)

I was just thinking to myself earlier, Russian nationals are over 6 weeks away. Although she does need a few weeks rest, that's quite a big break between tournaments. Then I went to check the Challenger Series page and lo and behold, Liza has been entered into Golden Spin of Zagreb.

4th-7th Dec. I guess this will be her warm-up competition before Nationals.

Edit:
Ah, silly me I forgot about GPF! That's before Nationals. Thanks jkun. :)

I just watched her LP. Fabulous! So confident, so alive.

Had she done that second 3Lz, she would've broken 200 points.

She's competing in another competition! She needs a whole new award for competing so many times in one season @_@. But I think it is doing wonders for her reputation. She is putting in solid performances in each of her performances and was the only shining light in today/yesterday's splat fest...

Look forward to seeing her at the gpf. That's the week after Zagreb. she's busy busy busy

An awesome skate from Elizaveta. Energetic, lively, every movement has a meaning and practically each acord is accentuated. The speed (and to some degree, flexibility) in most spins could be better, but apart from that, it's a superb program. I'm happy to be one of the folks who believed in her victory in the predictions game. :) Congratulations, Liza!

Thanks Rhodium! - A 3A would be amazing - and yes, I believe that if Liza really believed she could do it - she could!

Welcome, bdee - both to the Liza fan thread and GS. :) I hope you have a great time here. :)

Thanks, LRK!

I'm so happy that Liza won! I knew she could do it! I actually like her FS costume. I don't like her SP costume, though.

It's unfortunate that Adelina withdrew from Rostelecom Cup. I was hoping there'd be 5 Russian ladies at the GPF Final!

Liza's interview: http://fsrussia.ru/intervyu/445-liza-tuktamysheva-khochetsya-vosstanovit-trojnoj-aksel.html

She wants to restore a triple axel! She does make it with insurance. Liza: "...If I'll be in the mood for it I'll be able to make it. Maybe you will see me making this jump this season."
Woah. Her axel is good enough to pull it off, but I'd rather she holds off unless they're absolutely sure her back is okay. Her scores show that she likely won't need it. And I don't know if I can take any more crazy layouts... Yuzuru is giving me enough to worry about.
