Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

Silver. 2T-3T instead of 3-3 and did not add the 2L onto the 3Z-2T. Had she done so, gold would probably have been hers. PCS was 1 point higher than Elena's. So I'm happy that it shows Rus Fed was willing to give her gold had her TES been high enough. Silver is a good result considering that she's not in great physical condition because of that knee.

Congrats Liza!

Edit:
I have to say though, this has been a terrible competition for St. Petersburg skaters.
In this photo alone, one guy had a recurring injury and had to WD, one guy completely bombed, one guy had an "aberration" of a skate (not fully recovered from illness) and poor Liza got injured just before her SP. http://photos-a.ak.instagram.com/hp...-15/10860136_574107316022736_1112334838_n.jpg
And then from the other school, Alena and Menshov. :(
That arena is jinxed I tell you.
It must have been TAT's voodoo curse... :(

You know, I totally forgot about her knee even though they spoke about it during the warmup. Unfortunate that she couldn't be 100% today, but her mental focus is just amazing. Plushenko has said before that the difference between a great athlete and a champion is all mental (or words to that effect). And Liza is definitely a champion.

So true about the St. Petersburg skaters (and you know I hate that arena ;) ). Rukavitsin's skaters are so good, but just never seem to pull it all together when it counts.

Congrats Liza!! She made a strong come back so far. I hope she will get the gold at Europe.

They also seem to get lowballed on PCS internationally. Menshov's SP and both of Alena's programs this season. So under-appreciated.

Yes, that's true as well, too bad most of my favorite skaters don't have coaches who are any good at politicking. :p And Olga is a genius choreographer.

very impressed by Liza's performance today, although it is not gold, but that is the hardest competition ever for her. and she handled herself really well, She showed the mentality of a Champion. After this, she will only get better! Wish her all the best in the future.:cheer2:

Liza just knows how to perform. If my stream isn't lying to me, the crowd really got behind her too!

Judging by the scores, I think she could've won if she'd done all her tech content. So this is still a great result. I hope Liza knows this as well, so that when her knee is better, she will fight for every point and take the gold. :cheer:

Liza should be proud of all she's accomplished this season thus far. And to go from #10 to #2 in a year's time is nothing to sneeze at - especially in a year with so much Russian talent. She's finished in either first or second at every competition she entered, so good for her.

And what is it now - eight competitions (? I may have lost count?) and no fall. I think that is worth mentioning too! :)

Anyway, congratulations to Liza - and I am so proud of her! "From 10th to 1st" would have made a better "story", but, as you say apgold, 2nd is indeed nothing to sneeze at. Well done, Liza! :)

Hope she can rest her knee - does anyone know what's the matter? - in time for Euros - how many weeks is it?

Watching her comeback is such an unbelievable high. She's so beautiful, both on and off ice. She has the best English out of the current Russian contenders it seems...trivial, but worth something in my books lol. I enjoy Elena as well, but Elizaveta is the one I am cheering on to win the World title. There's so much to admire in her tenacity. But there is one thing...I don't really like her LP music this season, but it is unfortunately stuck in my head right now. :(
