Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

How can anyone not like this woman? Regardles of skating, regardless of jumps, with personality and humour like that you just have to! I never thought this would happen but I‘m becoming a serious fan right now and I‘m rooting more and more for her to slay this season.

This is starting to get exciting :hap85:

Nice to see this thread popping up more and more. Maybe Sabinfire will return :coffee:

It's even more fun for me, who's been a fan of hers since her first GP when she was 13. It's just such a joy to discover this unexpected side to her personality.:)

She's enjoying herself - and entertaining us. May this continue for the rest of the season - on and off the ice.:)

I wonder if her account is managed by herself. It's written in english but I remember last year in Lombardia Trophy she couldn't speak a word in english. Maybe someone is translating for her.

She said in a Twitter or Instagram reply to a fan who praised her English that she writes it pretty well, but she speaks it poorly because she doesn't get much practice with it, so I think she writes those witty comments herself.

I think most of the Russia girls understand English, but are too shy to try it out in interviews, the exceptions being Zhenya, Anna & Alena.

Zhenya began trying it out before she could really speak it. I love that interview (Worlds in Boston?) where she tries to talk about Yuri on Ice and can't find the words she needs; her frustration is so cute. She's getting pretty good at it now, and I expect her to advance rapidly now that she's immersed in the language, surrounded by native speakers. Alena is a little hesitant, but her English is good. Anna is straight up fluent and working on erasing her accent. I am really amazed at how well she speaks English at such a young age. I can't imagine that these girls have that much time for study with all the athletic training they have, so learning English must be a special interest of hers.

Liza spoke a few sentences in English in her live - she did quite well with it, I thought. She sounded much better than a few years ago. I think she's probably got more practice talking to non-Russian choreographers, and to fellow-skaters from other countries.

I'm getting such a kick out of following Liza on twitter. She's funny and sassy in the best way.:luv17: Can't wait to see her in competition again.

Loving Liza's personality on twitter and I respect her for speaking her mind always without fear. Good luck with this season Liza!

her new interview: https://fs-gossips.com/elizaveta-tuktamysheva-im-definitely-not-ready-to-quit-figure-skating/
interssting.

but what does she mean with her remark about the "test skates in st. petersburg" where she apparently jumped the 3A in the warm up?

The same test skates she mentions here, I think:

Probably they had their own practice test skates at Team Mishin - I know they have their own test skates at Plushy's school too.

ETA - Or, on looking at the wording "That’s why we decided to take part in the test skates that took place in St. Petersburg." it might not have been just Mishin skaters, but St Petersburg skaters. Anyway, probably some local event.

Liza's new FS costume is on her InstaStory and it's beautiful [emoji7] Covered in black rhinestones with gold and midnight blue accents and a feather headpiece to match.
