I think I have to choose Tuktamysheva as my favorite skater this season, with Radionova behind.
Out of all Russian girls (incl. Adelina and I'd say even Alena) Liza does seem the most mature the way she speaks and what she says. It actually attracted my attention earlier when she was doing sort of live reports on Sochi Olympics. Most of girls/boys of her age, who dedicate all their time to sport, are pretty bad in speaking (i.e. literally being able to say the sentence clearly, not mentioning that fairly they don't know barely anything outside of their profession); she is quite opposite. I also like another thing she said in different interview: "There are much worse misfortunes in life than my injures or Olympics. People face with much bigger, global problems. Indeed I come out to competition, not shooting. For me it is fun. Yes, it is hard but there is nothing to be scared. The only scary thing is to fall and to get an injury, but that's why the attitude should be rather calm."

I was thinking the same thing, but I learned back in the days of the band T.A.T.U., the legal age in Russia is 16. Not that this has any bearing whatsoever. :hopelessness:
I just read the most hilarious comment on Liza's skating dresses:

That was a dig, right? Well, I'll give you that one. After the argument the other week in which I was describing Julia as "a child", I deserved that.
But, it's not quite as hypocritical as it sounds. I did make a point of waiting until Liza was legal (i.e. 17) to admit that I fancied her...
And I am also making a point of waiting until her 18th birthday (i.e. tomorrow) to do something else. (You'll all see soon enough!

I saw the photos this morning on Facebook, and liked them so much that I thought "Those HAVE to be posted to the forum". But when I got here, I found that you had not only got in first, but you'd also provided an interview to go with them!

From reading that, Liza really does seem like somebody who really has her head screwed on and does not let things bother her. And it is so good to see that, because many a teenage girl would have crumpled under the amount of unfair criticism she has been getting the past couple of years.
Love that Liza likes "Guns 'n' Roses"!!! A year or so ago, I had a peek at her playlist on vKontakte, and was really despairing of what she was listening to. But, but the sounds of things, her taste in music has improved greatly since then!
Hey, with Javi being so successful in testing the ice (pardon the pun) with his SP this season, I hope we will get to see Liza skating to some rock music in the future!

I agree, she sounds wise beyond her years and incredibly grounded. Her mental strength + excellent technique should keep her on top, or close to it at least, for many years to come. And I would LOVE to see her (and Serafima) skate to hard rock. Time for the ladies to get some more variety in their programs. And Thin Lizzy is one of my favorite bands - great choice. :thumbsup:
