There were lots of wee girls who surronded Liza & took pics at K&C & it was adorbs. She was signing autographs on their skates btw) Hopefully it will bring them good luck in their future careers
With all the comments that she's tiny I didnt feel like she was (I'm 170cm btw)
I didnt want to bother her (& being an oldschool non gadget person I couldnt get a selfie anyway)
After her perf she quickly was gone (after giving autogr for the lil girls) but somehow I found the courage to call her name just when she was about to leave the building with her bf (Is Lazukin her bf btw??? I wasnt following her private life)))), congratulated her with the women's day & gave her my flowers. It was really brief but her smile is as shiny & charming as its on tv definitely:o:

Fun trivia: before the the victory ceremony in the evening Peter Gumennik was doing 'jumpathon' (lmao he's such a little star!) & Liza (who was chilling with her bf (or not bf) on the K&C sofa started clapping & encouraging him :rock:
It was super cute. I hope he'll grow up & be the KING!

all in all it was worth skipping work & having to working today instead (too bad K/S were absent but I'll vent in their thread :))
Hopefully one day i can go to some bigger comp & cheer for Liza. She was absolutely mesmerising as I imaiged & even better live.

Dont have anything to say on 3A. Imo it may be better to wait til next season but ofc Mishin & Liza know best.

Thanks for your first-hand account. I'd love to see Elizaveta live. Her jumps are just the kind I most admire. And she's got loads of charisma even from a TV screen.

Thank you for sharing your impressions with us. :) And confirming what I always argued: Liza's jumps are not only big, but also effortless and controlled on the landings.

Really makes me want to see Liza myself. Maybe she'll come to one of the North American GPs (and they'll be somewhere near me :hopelessness:)

I'm not objecting to it. Just saying, if I were the one doing the "inflating," I'd give +3s to all her toe jumps and leave the spin GOE at +1/+2. But I don't know how the performance actually was. Maybe her jumps were just "okay" by her standards and she knocked it out the park with the spins. :laugh:

^Meh, fairly tame statement. Everyone knows I'm a fan of Ashley Wagner, but I see nothing wrong with Liza sticking up for Team Russia. May the best woman win.
 
I don't have a problem with her statement. Go ahead and believe in ur team. They will likely go 1 2. 3rd place is up for grabs.
 
Bit of a curious statement about how 'American girls lack competitive experience'. Wonder what was meant by that exactly. (Maybe the younger skaters lack the competitive fire necessary to beat the Russians?) This season, Liza has been at more competitive events than any other skater I can think of, so she definitely has that area on lock-down.

Assuming the 'experience' statement was meant more for Polina and Gracie I suppose -- do Pogo and Radionova have more competitive experience? I mean, Polina won 4CCs, and all 3 ladies of Team USA went to the Olympics last year and finished well within the top 10... just saying... :slink:

Polina didn't make GPF, Gracie couldn't go, and Ashley skipped 4CC. So as far as this season's concerned, the Russians are more experienced.

Liza has been in seniors since 2011. Maybe she herself has brought into the thinking that she's a "veteran" at 18. (People tend to forget she's actually younger than Gracie, since she's been around for so long. Pretty funny how when Gracie messes up, people say, "Well, she's still young; she's the future of US figure skating" and when Liza messes up, they go, "She's done/should just retire in favour of the 15-year-olds." :laugh:)

Most likely, Liza's just countering Ashley's "sonograms" and Polina's "my edges/rotation are perfect!" We shouldn't think too hard about it. :)

Perhaps. It would be nice to see a little two-way rivalry going on for a change.

Also, I am more inclined to read into anything that Liza says, as opposed to Polina/Ashley, where I typically just laugh and take at face-value.

Then she said: "... because, still, American ladies-skaters has somewhat problems with rotating the elements" - which addresses, of course, mostly to Ashley. "and, I think, the lack of the experience, in particular, within younger girls" - which is a true too esp. for Polina. "The lack of the experience" can also mean the lack of reputation, i.e. PCS. "Therefore, if everything goes well, we, maybe, can count on high results". She, indeed, said it very carefully as you can see; I am translating literally.

After winning the 4CC, Polina also said that she didn't think Russian skaters were stronger than Americans.
