The current world champion in the women's figure skating Elizaveta Tuktamysheva experiencing difficulties in the preparation for the new season, but it teaches a quadruple jump, said to Sovsport.ru columnist Andrew Simonenko the skater's coach Alexei Mishin.

Tuktamysheva Monday concluded by the first stage of the Cup of Russia in Samara. Figure skater won, but the box office of both programs made mistakes.

"This year, the preparation of Lisa is very difficult - admitted Mishin. - My experience working with Evgeni Plushenko, Alexei Urmanov and Alexei Yagudin says that after the great success there may be serious problems. The same thing we saw after the Olympics, when many victors Sochi missed next season. I do not think and Tuktamysheva season gone, but the complexity is. "

"For this reason, starting in Samara wore did not control, and the nature of the training, - added the coach. - But as difficult jumps, the triple axel Lisa in training have repeatedly made. Work is in progress and on the quadruple toe loop. While it is impossible. "

Mishin said that the next will be the start for Tuktamysheva commercial tournament in Japan, which will be held October 3rd. "Let's get in shape for the season, as we did last year", - concluded the coach.

I think FS fans overreacted to Liza's first competition/show this season. Just take it easy, and everything will be fine.

Awwww heck yeah! We've had Kings of Quad for so long, about time they had a Queen!

I mean... Is a 4T necessary? When her 3A will be stable enough she won't need a quadruple jump at all.
I think she should concentrate on a 3-3 combination instead:/

Don't take Mishin's words seriously sometimes, for he is a very good player of diversion tactics most of the time.

Well he also says so far it's still impossible.

That one.

I do think of the current ladies, she is one of, if not THE most likely to be able to pull off a quad toe, but obviously this isn't going to happen this season.

I think it's questionable, she's not a tiny little thing anymore. Wonder if she's able to get the rotational speed needed for a quad. But a consistent 3A should be enough imho.

yeah Samara doesnt show anything
she needs to lay down & take hot tea & pills (tho Im against pills usually)))

Yes but of the current ladies, I really think she gets the best height. Rotational speed is indeed the question, but I think she's a lot more likely to be able to do it than a lot of the girls who are still tiny little things, because they just don't get height.

I thought Adelina had a bigger triple toe than Elizaveta, and more likely to succeed a quad? In any case, it's probably just all talk. Besides getting a stable 3-axel, Eliza had better work on a 3lutz-3toe as well as get better skating skills and spins and improve her overall stamina before training for a quad.

I agree, the height and air time shouldn't be the problem. Maybe she would have to go faster into the jump, she doesn't go into the 3A very fast, but then she could have problems with the control of the jump. I don't doubt that she can rotate a quad, the question is wether she can land it or not. She probably shouldn't risk it, remember Midori Ito broke her ankle and her jumps were huge.

So, two falls - that's as many as she had in the entirety of last season, I think. Okay, Liza, you've now used up your quota.:)

Meanwhile - the quad. I think that if anyone can do it, it's likely she. However, that is not the reason I think it's a good idea for her to train it now - whether she gets it this season... or ever. No, the reason it's good is because, instead of just worrying about being World Champion, and living up to expectations - this is something that she can work toward - something to challenge her.

And better spins, skating skills bla bla bla - she may work on those, but she'll never be considered to be the best at them anyway, whatever she does. She is already improving her biellmann by making it one-handed, for example. Nobody will notice - no one wlll care. And she will never be the best spinner anyway. This gives her a tangible goal.

ETA - Oh, and if she actually manages to land it in competiton one day? That will be something no one will be able to take away from her. Ever.

I don't think you are right, LRK. Last year she had Russian Cup first stage, almost at the same time of the year, and her total was 169 (only 105 on LP). I'm pretty sure she fell there, and likely not just once. I think Mishin strategy is to gain the form as the season goes, if so it is smart, because the main competitions are at the end.

Ok, I checked it, she actually did not fall in Samara last year, I was wrong. But, she did bunch of doubles, so her TES for LP was only 45.26: http://fsrussia.ru/files/docs/competitons/1415/1etap1415_protocol.pdf (page 72). So, I guess we shouldn't worry much.

Yes, I remember that - it was a pretty dismal outing, and people were worried that she was Doooomed - so I'm not worried. Falls, however, are pretty uncharacteristic for her - she only had them on 3A attempts last year. I just read an interview with her:

http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/index.php?threads/from-russia-with-love-20-autumn-2015.96379/page-16

(for whatever reason I seem unable to link to the post in particular, but it is on that page), where she said she treated it like practice. Maybe that in combination with her illness made her less focussed and more careless than usual.
