Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

I loved reading her interview - and I thought her mentioning that her programs were suitable for Halloween particularly cute.:)

And, I echo everyone else... Come on Liza! You know you can do it!:cheer:

Congratulations with nice free skate!
She looked so tired in the end, I'm glad she did well. I wonder if it will be enough for medal :)

I had a feeling she would pull herself up. Not surprised that she was focused on the elements. I do wonder if there will be any tweaks to the program...not to harp on the subject since there were about 20 pages of people complaining about it in the FS thread, but it really doesn't do her justice in its present form, I think anyone can see that. What should they do with it, or do you think Mishin will just leave it be?

I think he will want her to be consistent with it. And she can certainly give it more power - still, I didn't think it was actually a bad performance. But what do I know? (shrug)

Also - just 20? What, are they lazying about for? I'm sure they can do at least a 100 on Liza's awfulness. Otherwise, one is in danger of thinking that they don't really mean it.

I thought she sold the program much better at the Japan Open, and am able to forgive a little bit of stiffness today; she seemed much more focused with the jumps, and clearly relieved to have delivered an almost-perfect technical skate today.

Objective vs subjective truth makes me think this outing will ultimately leave her feeling more confident heading into the next Grand Prix.

She may not have been a 68 in PCS today, but I don't think Wagner was either -- the four point gap was a little insulting imo.

Congrats to Liza for a great comeback. I admit I was reminded of yesterday when I saw her face today before the FS, and I was worried. But she proved once more that she is the Dea ex Mishina and a true queen.

Still, I feel she may not be in optimum condition health-wise. There is indeed a certain lack of power. Maybe her diet is too hard on her? Does she sleep well?

I wondered about that with a lot of skaters at this event. There are so many who seem way more tired than normal. Is Lethbridge at high altitude or something? But if it's not specific to the event and it's been this way for Liza for awhile, I hope she can get some more energy. She looked so fatigued, poor thing.

Just woke up and watched the performance. Congratulations Liza!
The PCS gap was too large but I'm glad she still won the FS.

I agree, despite the jump errors, I thought the performance was better at JO. Which is why I don't advocate changing the program; I think she should work on making the current program better. Imo, choreography and execution can't be separated; improving the latter will help the former.

For this point in the season, that skate was pretty good. I mean, at Skate America last year, she was just as subdued in the LP, with more jump errors on an easier program. The SP was, of course, much better last year--hopefully she'll start nailing the SPs again.

I'm confident the program will be better at future competitions. She did what she had to do today to keep herself in the running for a GPF slot.

I googled at it's about 800 meters higher than Moscow -- don't know if that makes a difference.
