Oh I don't mean that she'd require a program that doesn't suit her, some powerful music and expressing that can do wonders while still not being very complicated steps-wise. What I really want is a program that suits her and her strengths, if you know what I mean :)
You mistook my words. :scratch2: What I really meant is that skating fans usually prefer a ladies skater whose programs are permeated with feminine beauty, like Carolina, Yuna and Mao.

To be clear, I wasn't trying to suggest what Lambiel said was untrue at this moment; I've said even here that I was upset to see that some of the choreographic nuances that I enjoyed in Japan (and even in Nice) had gone away in favor of keeping the jumps consistent.

From my perspective, it feels like the choreography will come once she's comfortable with the jumps and the program -- something I feel she's close to achieving. She didn't win the GPF, Euro and Worlds with clean jumps and vacant programs; they had plenty of touches that informed the character of the piece and the music she was interpreting.

Be healthy is a must!
& we'll be here supporting you bb!:yahoo::clap::hb:
& most of all - a consistent 3A is a goal this year & hopefully she can get that coming into the worlds!:agree:

If something about her season has been good so far, she's actually been landing it pretty often lately... Despite some minor mistakes with its landing. But yes, still 2 seasons to get into top shape.

Happy Birthday to Liza! :hb:

I hope it was a happy one and that she'll kick butt at the Russian Nationals. Bring on the 3A :hap10:

Lambiel did an interview with TSL and talked about choreographing for Liza:

He says some really nice things about her, and how she's improved from when they first met several years ago, but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way when they asked what she's kept of the FS choreography and he was like "the music." It was a flippant remark and definitely meant to be a joke, but given how she's been struggling just to get her jumps back to the consistency she had with them last season, it felt like an unnecessary dig. It'd be one thing if she was throwing down technically brilliant skates and just carelessly leaving out all of the in-betweens; even in Zagreb, she's still trying to get comfortable on the ice. As I've said here before, when she's comfortable and familiar with a program (see: Bolero), she has no problem incorporating the choreography with the jumps. Peer Gynt still needs more time, I'm sure of it.

In any event, I don't know how I'd feel if I was a skater and my choreographer said that, but I'm probably more sensitive than an elite athlete.

I've now listened to the Stephane interview, and he did, as you mentioned, say a lot of positive things about Liza.

I didn't mind the "the music" remark - especially as he then went on to give a more detailed answer; that the slow part is very much kept as choreographed, but that the first and last parts were the ones which had been simplified. But he also expressed understanding for why that was. I thought it was a very nice interview as a whole as well.

Yes, I think he made it clear that he didn't blame Liza herself for the changes. Stephane is pretty familiar with Mishin after all.

Happy birthday! :hb:
