In this interview Liza thinks that Alexei is such a caring coach that she can tell him everything, to which he always listens, helps, and gives advice. He is also a great coach, who can always see the potential in her to be optimized. She also mentioned Tatiana Prokofieva as another very important person in her life. Both of them have been believing in her even when she already has doubts about herself. And they transfuse their confidence and optimism into her, so that giving up is not going to happen.
Right now she is not thinking about the Olympics but working and working. She believes that if she does everything that depends on her, she will have good prospects.

And she also talked about her absence at the Worlds. She felt very upset and depressed for failing to make the national team, but she did not see anything extraordinary in the girls' programs by watching the competitions on TV.

In a word, her coaching team has their own tactics: First fight with those strong rivals, and then a much fiercer Liza will be reborn! (Just my free translation )

Hopefully this interview can stop some speculations going wilder and wilder among some Russian fans.

I miss Liza's skating. I really do!
(Sorry, it is inappropriate to say "I miss Liza" here. :o::laugh:)

Liza uberfans! I'm curious, how good is Liza's English? Can she read it, speak it and understand it? I'm just curious considering she was working with Emanuel Sandhu - and having a blast with him from the looks of it! The videos of them dancing on ice just kill me, they're so cute.

I'm not sure. I'm trying to remember the few interviews she's done in English. My guess would be that she probably understands it at least a little bit better than she speaks it. That's generally the case with people who don't get a chance to speak it very often. My guess would be that she'd understand/be able to speak the basic things.

But hopefully someone else could give a better answer?

Hi SarahSynchro,

A quick Google search brought up 2 CBC interviews of Liza in English at the 2015 WFSC in Shanghai (both posted by sabinfire) about her SP and LP. I think her English is surprisingly good.

Thanks everyone! Those interviews from worlds last year are so cute, though I must say I always find it endearing when all non-English speaking skaters give interviews to English media. As if world class figure skaters don't already have enough on their plates, yet many of them learn to speak other languages rather well. Learning a new language is no easy feat! Liza seems to have a good handle on the basics. :)

Had a good work today on steps-sequence with Liza Tuktamysheva. Working on the improvements of the body movements and levels difficulties.
