It's a bit different in tone to Sandstorm - that was lighter, more playful. This is more... Epic.

also wonderful choreography this year.
now hopefully; the jumps will be there once the real competition starts.

The more I watch the program, the more I love the music cuts.

Oh, and the music is also different from much of what Liza has done in that it really doesn't lend itself to a clap-along.

What is the issue with her loop? Is the last and second double axel replaced by the loop later on? Looks like this jump has left her.

Mathematically this program is not constructed well. She leaves a lot of points in the table.

I have been thinking about that a lot
I suppose that 3L is her weakest jump.
I do not state that because of the last competition she entered: I am sure that she was not supposed to jump a 3L.
I vividly remember that at World Team Trophy she doubled a 3L (the very first mistake she made in 2014-2015 season -3A aside-) and since then she hasn't jumped a 3L in competion any more.

Furthermore neither her flip is that consistent.

That being said (even though I hoped that Liza would have upped her tech a little bit) I don't think that she will go for a 8 triples LP.

She usually completed the 3 loop successfully in the past. Before the 3A era she also used it in the sp as the solo jump out of steps.

Strange strategy. Sacrificing 3L and 3Lz-3T for 3A (which is not consistent at all).

Her team is aiming at maximum GOE, not the highest BV possible I suppose. Her 3t3t hit rate is obviously a lot higher than 3lz3t. It would be interesting to see if she can beat someone like Medvedeva with this layout. I think her lutz setup is so long that there might be problem of getting too close to the boards, like Gracie often does.

It could also be a longterm strategy, and they mean to up the tech gradually, when Liza is comfortable with this current layout. But, whether that is the plan or no, they could have that option. I know the idea before was to work towards having to 3As - but I don't know if that is still the plan after last season.

I'm now guessing that the SP layout is a way to make Liza as comfortable as possible and allay those SP demons.

I think Liza's new LP is much better than the SP. Glad to see her skating maturing more and more over the years, and hopefully she can regain her excellent jumps as the season moves on and stand out from the rest of the field technically. I know how hard it is for a girl to be on top again taking account of the current intense competitions either at home or abroad, but health is always above anything else. Hope her team can take a step-by-step approach and finally succeed in lighting up the world stage with Liza's smile and passion for FS one more time.

Funny, I seem to be the only one who likes the SP better. The LP could be great though when she hits all her jumps. Dramatic. So she's got roughly 7 weeks to get in top shape - I really hope that she can achieve that.

I like both - but I think the LP has greater potential. When it really settles, and becomes natural to her, and she skates it with conviction... Well, I have great hopes for it.:) (Also, I happen to have a weakness for the Epic... )
