Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

Does anyone remember Liza's test skate at 2014-2015 season? How was she there? I wonder, maybe this is just because her very first "competition" in new season and nothing to afraid. :(

She's still got pain in her leg, did I understand that correctly? I'm struggling to remember if we ever had much information about that - have you seen anything?
Yes, my impression is that the pain is being "managed" but not cured.
There is no other solid info out there. Lots of speculation on social media but noone really knows anything concrete and the girls in the school are not talking.

She said in the interview linked by adelia that she's competition rusty, since she hasn't competed since February.

As for her 2014 test skate - I honestly don't remember. But she did a local comp before Nebelhorn, and that... was not good. Everyone thought she was Doomed. She did a similar comp in 2015 - and that sesaon turned out to be... lacklustre.

So, basically, what I'm saying is, it's too early to tell. It could go either way. Or somewhere in between.

But.

Go, Liza! - You'll alway be my Queen.:)

Thanks. That sound a little worrisome.

didn't they said back in 2014 her injury was always going to relapse and even Mishin quoted not so positive news about her state
but then she went on to become World Champion that same season.

It seems that Liza has got some mental block about the 3A. Considering the on-going fierce competitions among these Russian girls, it is hard to predict what will happen next. Moreover, her leg pain will always remain so long as she chooses to continue skating. She is now in a very difficult situation, to say the least. Hopefully things will get better as the season goes on.

From what I recall, there were videos of the run-through and the free skate from the 2014 test skate. The run-through was a bit of a disaster, but the actual test was much better; she was still planning to open with a 3Lz-3T (ended up being a 3Lz-2T), and did a nice 2A-3T in the middle.

I mean, I was worried about the 3A from the beginning; it's a mental mantle that so few have taken on that it hardly seemed worth it for one with such fine jumps through 3Lz. The silver lining is that the technical foundation is so superb and we've seen her come back from ostensibly much worse. After all, she did medal at every completed event except Nationals, and probably would have pulled up to at least 2nd had Bompard finished. The Russian field is so deep that it may allow her to improve under the radar and be ready in time for Nationals; Pogorilaya was able to do that last year, when no one gave her a flying chance of making the team, and she went on to medal at Worlds.

Next competition for Liza will be Nebelhorn Trophy. Maybe we will get to see her new FS dress then.
I like her FS this season, even though she's not in the best of conditions atm, the program still looked interesting.

Disregarding her jumps for now (which I don't think matter that much yet as the season hasn't even begun), I actually really liked the first half of the LP. It sort of unraveled into a frantic mess as it got near the end though. All of her programs are so similar, but I like this one better than the one she won Worlds with...it's very powerful.
