Ellie Kam & Danny O'Shea

Danny and Ellie are out on the ice training again. I can’t find the instagram story. But man he is a beast.

Danny and Ellie just withdrew from John Nicks Pairs Challenge. I hope everything is ok with them. I saw them perform at an ice show in Minneapolis mid-July and they looked good (and I got to meet them!), but since then they were replaced last minute at the Sun Valley ice show, didn’t skate at the Summer Sizzler, and have now withdrawn from their first Challenger…I’m starting to worry😢.

Does anyone know what might be going on? I heard some rumors that Ellie might have a concussion??? I suppose I could just be brave and DM Danny and ask him directly since we follow each other now on Instagram, but I’m not sure I’m that brave🫣.

Danny is very nice. Just ask him, say you were concerned.

I DMed him. Now I am nothing to him but he almost always replies. Even during comps. So I’m rather concerned

If you hear anything back, let me know🙏🏼. I know most likely it’s nothing too serious (they were at champs camp after all), but I just want things to go well for them and the thought of their Olympic season getting derailed is just😭😭😭.

They did have a lift fall during the finale of the ice show I saw and while they got up and continued just fine, Ellie was the only skater not to teach at the skating camp the next day… I worried a bit then that she might’ve gotten hurt. A month and 3 withdrawals later, I’m even more worried!

In happier news, Danny did end up teaching at that skating camp. He completely fixed my loop jump and taught me how to land my first ever loop-loop combo! He really is nice and a great coach. Not every elite skater can explain things in a way that makes sense to beginners, but he can very well.
