David Dore's thought on new Judging

"Before, if you didn't do well in the short program, you virtually threw in the towel," said Dore. "In the pairs, when a solo jump was missed, they'd say, 'Well, it's over, it's finished.' Now a skater doesn't have to say that. They can say, 'Well, I missed that jump but I can make it up.' The system allows you to miss something but to make it up and to strategize your program.

"It puts the sport back into the hands of the athletes, where it should be."

Not surprising that David Dore likes the new system. He practcally wrote it.

I think .. i just keep giggling, you can be so Avant Guard, in a good way:agree:

But what he has said in that way MIGHT give some incentive to potentials and fall offs. I really just wanted to have someone agree with this no matter how desperate of an attempt by me

There is much to be said for the CoP. What it didn't cover was the FREE SKATE. It's now the Long Program with so many rules. Ya cant do this and ya must do that. Sad, a skater can't be him/her/them selves.
