David Dore's thought on new Judging

"Before, if you didn't do well in the short program, you virtually threw in the towel," said Dore. "In the pairs, when a solo jump was missed, they'd say, 'Well, it's over, it's finished.' Now a skater doesn't have to say that. They can say, 'Well, I missed that jump but I can make it up.' The system allows you to miss something but to make it up and to strategize your program.
"It puts the sport back into the hands of the athletes, where it should be."
