HOLY MOLY!!! AM I DREAMING??? Is that really Fedor's name on the list (albeit to be confirmed)? The Skate Gods had better not be toying with my emotions!

OMG! That's really a delighting surprise!
He's certainly making an effort to maximize his skating life. I couldn't wait to see what progress he can achieve in this short period of time!

I am very happy for you - and for me, because I might get the chance to see him live at Euros!:rock:

Jeez, if they confirm this I need to find him a place on my banner

That is hilarious.

I find it odd that Aze is an European country, while Kazakhstan is an Asian country. Denis Ten was at 4CC, right? Aren't they all the Stan countries (pardon my ignorance)? Another question is which regional championships Armenian skaters go to, Europeans?

The border of Europe seems to be the Caspian sea. Georgia and Azerbaijan are both just west of it. Kazahkstan and Uzbekistan are just east.

huh. and they made me memorize the capitals of all the -tan countries for my asian history class...

oh well. hope the paperwork comes through for fedor. just saw his violin concerto program once and i liked it.

For sure - the artificial boundary between the continents of Europe and Asia lies along the Ural Mountains south to the Ural River and the Caspian Sea and the along the Caucasus Mountains to the Black Sea. :)
I am cartographer

Euros/ 4CC in figure skating is not just about geographical boundaries - Israel, for example, is surely in Asia yet belongs to the Europeans.

Argentina is in South America but it is not a Latin American country. Not even a North American. It is a misplaced European country.

Okay, I'm sure I've missed something but why is it James/Bonheur who are going to Worlds for France and not Canac/Coia?

I think Adeline Canac was sick for a while and missed too much training time. Either way there was supposed to be a test between the two pairs, so FFSG just picked J/B.

Next In Line

This is just an observation, why is Weaver and Poje who are number 3 in Canada not next in line for subs at worlds... instead they have chong and gwellfer. should it not be the 3rd place team next..... Just a thought!!

Because substitutes on the entry list are listed alphabetically.

If fedor gets clearane can caroline zhang skate for china?

No---China does not allow dual citizenship, for one thing. And since she represented the US at JW 2009, Caroline would have to sit out at least one year before skating for another country, and the US would have to agree to release her (which they probably would not do).

 Sure, the Pampas are just like the french countryside.

Now I know why some argentinian drivers think south brazilian roads are Authobahnen...

(Sorry, the joke was just too much for this brazilian to resist... please, take no offense)
