European's Men's Short

This is crazy - i'm out of breath from speed reading this thread -- thanks so much for the pbp, but does anyone have a link to the scores, I can't seem to get them (and i'm sneaking a peek from work so can't spend too much time...:agree:

I thought the marks were more or less fair. Verner deserved to be in 1st afer the short.

In the kissNcry, Lambiel's coach told him (in French) it was a pity he didn't try to do the triple toe as the second part of his missed combination (triple toe instead of the quad as the first part).
Stéphane replied that he did consider going for it but thought it was not allowed to repeat a triple jump in the short.

Actually you can repeat a jump in the combination (triple toe/triple toe or triple loop/triple loop) but you can't do the same jump in the combination and as the solo jump.

seriously? Again? Did the same thing happen at worlds last year, and when he was interviewd afterwards he said He didn't know he can repeat a triple in the sp in the combo twice until after his performance when his coach told him? You'd think he'd remember it by now.

So disapointed he only did 3-2 (and the easiest kind too.) I really hope he brings it in the LP... he's my favorite

I hope tomorrow Voronov and Lutai skated like they did at RN, they can end up in the top 6 if they do, and finally get those three spots back to Russia.

I'm very surprised that Joubert and Lambiel got so close marks on PCS, but my guess is that (while COP should not do this) Joubert's marks were already high and to put Lambiel even higher PCS marks would have put him above Joubert or even ended up being first.

I'm so happy for Verner, hopes he hang in there!! Lambiel just need a clean program, he could even take out the triple axels out his program if he thinks he won't land them. Lambiel gets huge PCS marks for his Flamenco that would easily make up for the TES.

I would love see Verner winning, but a tad more realistic, if the three go clean, those 8 points Verner has in advantage, Lambiel would get them on PCS.

wow what an exciting short program! I am so glad that Verner is in first.. i love that SP, but doubt that he will be able to stay there after the freeskate.

predictions for the free:

1. Lambiel
2.Kevin Van per Parren
3. Joubert
4.verner

I'm worried for Brian. He had that illness early in the season and had some gastric problemas (according to the fluff) 2 weeks ago. He looks really drained. I don't think he has as much stamina as he used to.
