. To me what happened to Plushenko in Prague was sheer atrocity. He was forbidden not only to skate but also to explain to the audience why he can't skate. And he was brave enough to step out to the stage on the request of the show organizers and to endure all the mad fury of the public. That's the ISU's idea of popularizing the sport!!! And that's their idea of how the reighning world champion should be treated!

Seems the ISU just continues to get more and more obnoxious in the way they treat the skaters every year.

I remember one year in tennis, the top players threatened to boycott Wimbledon if -- well, actually, the reason they were going to do it escapes me at the moment. But it worked. If only figure skating was set up like tennis -- that way, the skaters could boycott the Worlds and wake the ISU up.

How much longer are we going to have to deal with Cinquatta and his attitude, anyway? I know that a couple of ISU Presidents have died while in office; I'm starting to wonder if he's going to end up being one of them.

But Speedy still managed to get reelected. Even if he died, what would they elect back in?

I stongly recommend the new book "Cracked Ice." It will explain a lot about the ISU and Speedy.

The saddest part of all is that those who have tried to stand up to the top powers all lose their position. Power corrupts and Speedy thinks he is above the law and the ISU constitution, but he is not the first in the ISU to think this way.

I too have almost hoped for his demise.....and success of the WSF. Speedy is destroying our sport.
