Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

And I bet by now every ice dance fan know couple of infamous names from reading Youtube comments. Those couple of people, because frankly there are not that many, maybe 5, are doing so much bad press for all the lovely P/C fans out there and may I say for French people really. The arrogant French cliche will survive long thanks to those trolls.

Oh gosh don't even get me started on that :drama: One can't watch a Gaby and Guillaume video on YT without seeing those comments. Fortunately the trolls don't bring their negativity and tantrums to FS forums. People in this thread are very nice and bring constructive criticism, you guys are a lovely bunch!

It is because P&C threaten V&M. It was the same case when V&M competed against D&W. It's incredible how much hate D&W received from V&M fans. Lots of V&M fans believe that even with mistakes and falls, they should always win, because they are so ahead of others.

Of course, not every V&M fan is like this, maybe even the group of such fans is small. But probably those fans are the loudest, that's why they are noticed.

I just wish that the V/M v. D/W fan war will not be replicated and P/C and V/M stans will be civilised with each other. It will be difficult because obviously a lot is at stake during the Olympic season but come on... both teams are amazing. It's clear who we prefer in this thread but at the end of the day it makes no sense to make unnecessary comparisons or to make oneself feel better about their favourite team by putting the other team down.

First of all, THANK YOU guys for all those good words, it's soon nice to read positive and warm speechs for both teams. I can't say anything else but agree with you words !!!

I read those comments on YT, I tried few times to resonate those people and even inform them about all the legal stuff for lebel and injury in vain ..... (my jurist part was on high point at that time ^^). It's absolutely annoying to seems so nasty towards the world because of those freaky people while everyone here is so nice and kindly even with others competitors

To be fair, I saw as many nasty D/W fans as V/M fans during that period. And I think that in general, you're right that it tends to be a fairly small portion of each fan group that get really nasty, but they are often the ones talking the most. I've been on different boards or sites where there were more nasty fans from one team than the other (in both of the "rivalries"), but in my experience which side had more nasty comments varied depending on which site I was on. And some V/M fans probably tend to be overly defensive since it got so nasty on both sides in the rivalry with the Americans. Doesn't make it okay obviously, but that might be where some of it comes from. Anyways, I don't think it's fair to say the whole group is like that, since the majority I've interacted with, while they may have a strong preference for Tessa and Scott, haven't been dismissive of P/C (just my experience obviously). I've also gotten the impression that some people who tend to be dismissive of P/C weren't necessarily V/M fans, but fans of other teams who didn't like P/C's style or dominance over the last couple of seasons for whatever reason, but maybe I'm wrong.

Interesting, thank you. You're probably right but then they should be even more motivated not to relive the same situation by avoiding to exacerbate things with P/C fans, of course it goes both ways but I feel P/C fans don't necessarily overlap with D/W fans. I even have the feeling many of their fans are new to skating or at least are getting interested or brought back to ice dance, like I was, through them. I might be wrong though.
Anyway, it's not that bad at least the fan threads stay very civil and pleasant. I hope you keep posting here because it's interesting to hear from V/M's fans, bring a different perspective.

that's my case:). I watched the competitions on television sometimes. I had never been a fan of a skater in particular. I can say that this fact has changed since November 2014 :drama:
I love your music proposals:agree2: (for P/C, Satie, Pavane)

To make us wait (for the new programs):)

ahah they're one SD too late  but they move :luv17: and good to see them work together off ice. Last year, we kept seeing Guillaume but I love seeing Gaby bringing it.
I hope they'll be posting stuff on a regular basis though, they're not good at keeping us waiting till the season begin. See I can find them a flaw, that and I want another Exhibition more like Bring me to church or Can't feel my face. I don't want belvedere anymore.

I read this article about Beaudry-Fournier/Sorensen who train with them in Montreal. It's a long but interesting read about a lovely team IMO and they do speak quite a bit about the atmosphere in Gadbois and particularly about V/M and P/C. Even their approach to training and how they interact with their teammates are quite different. No wonder they are also so distinct from each other on the ice.
Guillaume seems to be as fun as Gaby during training, even though he mostly looks shy in interviews. Those two seem to have a good approach to life.

It's really clear from what they say that the atmosphere in Montreal is really great. It's also interesting how they say that Gaby and Guillaume are more having fun and Tessa and Scott are a little more serious, but that Tessa and Scott are more likely to engage with the other teams. You really get a sense of their different personalities. And that both of them have really strong partnerships with very little friction - not that that's surprising. Thanks for sharing.

Article about "the cave" (practice ice rink at Helsinki) with a few words about Gabriella and Guillaume (at the end)

Happy Birthday to Gabriella:hb:

She always has lovely things to say about them.
Many teams and skaters have already announced their music choices, it's so fast this year. We can really feel the Olympics are in the air. Alas I feel even with the Olympics looming we'll be the last fans to learn our favs' music
