Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Thanks
Why not a choregraphy of Mister Dean one day ?

Mister Dean will be their Coach with the italians (European Coach). Someone remember when this competition will begin ?

What I could find was April 22 -24th. So not too long to wait, yeah

During the ice dance victory ceremony, I felt that there's was some very good connection and friendship between Gabriella, Madison, Guillaume and Evan. I think this is also obvious in the video broadcast. Somehow, it looks like the Shibs stayed a bit apart during this ceremony. May be just my impression?

No, I immediately thought the same thing Maddison seems to want to interact with them. In the K&C too, they talk together every time, last year too. Too me, whether you like them as skaters or not, C/B look like fun people and even goofy at times. P/C are really laid back and relaxed as well. The Shibs might be more of the reserved type. In the K&C, they looked deeply disappointed at their FD results so they might not have been able to lighten up during the ceremony.

Congrats on consecutive victory in World Championships! You were mesmerizing, but please do some completely different programs next year :p :cheer:

I do hope that now, with two World titles under their belt, they feel free to go back to experimenting with their music a little, maybe a David Bowie medley, though a lot of teams will probably go there?

Anyway, so happy for them and the love they get from everyone!

Could you elaborate on that?
Is it related to the music choice? Last season, they chose a classical masterpiece, this so famous piano concerto #23 from Mozart. This powerful emotional music - by itself - was carrying tremendously the whole free dance. This season, to me, it's just like they decided to switch to the opposite with the choice of modern "less known" music pieces targeted to create an intimate atmosphere. It's just like they wanted to create powerful emotions by talking about their journey from France to Canada which is also the story of their friendship, build on the ice (their "home"), by relying - this time - only on their skating/dancing skills & talents and this unique emotional connection they have on the ice.

I have read what their porgrams this season meant. So it's not news for me what you've written about. I just want too see them in different style. But, like totally different, not just slightly different. Doing something similiar will get boring with time, even if skated masterfully & I think the're too good to became one dimensional ice dancers. I felt that both their programs this season were similiar. And it doesn't matter if music is super known or unknown at all to me, though kudos to them for not using warhorse music. I only meant style. That's all. No hidden meaning.

I want a different music too, a music more energetic or more intense

I'm curious to see what they can do with for example :
carmina burana
Beethoven Ode to Joy
David Bowie Medley ? I'm with you
Or a "strange music" like the woodkid.

what are your proposals Alain ?

I'd like them to do something dramatic like Tosca Carmina or something like K/Novitski's Night on bald mountain! .

i love their new ex!! we can see another side of them!! good sign for next year sd!!!

haha yeah! That was great indeed and so fun to watch and fun to see how much they enjoyed it!
I am sure Cathleen liked it too, am I right?

It's not *that* new as they already danced on so many different styles such as "Run Boy Run" or "Iron" by Woodkid (oat was mentioning this one), Elvis Presley medley, Jailhouse Rock, "Money"and "Hey you" by Pink Floyd, the piano concerto 23 by Mozart and finally Eric Bosso and the Cinematic Orchestra and I forgot some in this list.

As long as they keep their emotional connection, their fluidity, their flexibility (Guillaume, how stunning!!!), their elegance and class and their ability to pass on the emotions to the audience.
The rest is a question of musical tastes and we all have different tastes, which is fortunate.

Interviewed during TEB 2015, Marie-France Dubreuil explained they won't do again classical before the Olympics as they proved they can do it with the Mozart piece. As I understand, next season they will try something different compared to the last two seasons. As for the Olympic season, they will decide based on their experience on the past years. I think they will have plenty of choice for the Olympics as I am convinced they can dance on so many types of music and rhythms and I wouldn't be surprised to see them becoming triple World champions in Helsinki.

Were you at the gala too ? BTW, I wanted to ask you when you have some time if you could tell us also your impressions on the other top teams skating SD and FD. Did some teams surprise you once seen live ? Did it change your perception on some of them ? Couple of posters I've read mentioned how C/B for instance are much more impressive live.

Hey Guys, IMPORTANT TOPIC just in case you were not aware of...

All-event packages for the ISU 2017 World Championships in Helsinki are already on sale.

If you want to have a look, proceed as follows:
1. Go this site http://www.lippu.fi/worlds2017
2. Click on the Finish flag on the top right corner and click on the "English" tab under the "Suomi" section
3. Look to the different prices and options if you are interested

Note: on Step 2, don't chose "France", this does not work at all. You will be redirected to the French partner but at the end, it does not work at all (believe me, I tried, that was a mess!)

she said they found their olympic music!! they chose not to use it this year cause it's was olympic music type. so they already know their music program (good thing considering they will also train V/M)
that's why i was pretty calm when they annonced V/M comeback.
so the question is for next year and cleary they will do something different. just one wish no musical, or dark horse programs.

Haha, I was back home to watch the gala from France. Don't worry, I will post my impressions on SD and FD shortly! Just need to recover a bit. The 2016 Worlds were just fantastic and so emotional (you know what I am talking about... obviously).

Already? Wow! Was not aware about it. Do you have a reference or a link to the article where she said that because in Bordeaux, given her interview, that was not my understanding. Now, since TEB 2015, they may have decided something according to your post
