Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Already? Wow! Was not aware about it. Do you have a reference or a link to the article where she said that because in Bordeaux, given her interview, that was not my understanding. Now, since TEB 2015, they may have decided something according to your post

I think it' s an Dubreuil Lauzon's interview in june 2015 when they came in France for " coaching " the french coachs. The interview is on "passion patinage".

Hey Guys, IMPORTANT TOPIC just in case you were not aware of...

All-event packages for the ISU 2017 World Championships in Helsinki are already on sale.

If you want to have a look, proceed as follows:
1. Go this site http://www.lippu.fi/worlds2017
2. Click on the Finish flag on the top right corner and click on the "English" tab under the "Suomi" section
3. Look to the different prices and options if you are interested

Note: on Step 2, don't chose "France", this does not work at all. You will be redirected to the French partner but at the end, it does not work at all (believe me, I tried, that was a mess!)

One more information, if you would prefer to attend some specific short or dance programs and not the whole event, then be aware that the "tickets per event" are not on sale so far but that shouldn't be too long. This time, I think you have the full information I got in Boston from the Finish delegation.

MFD said that this music is more for a olympic competition and also they decided to wait because P/C thought that they are not quite mature for this music.
But 2 years is long and people change maybe, they will change in 2018 ? ;)

If P/C said they were not yet ready, that MUST be quite challenging imHo, which is good! They're so off the scale hence they definitely need challenges.

Thanks for your feedback, I have found this interview, which is interesting in many ways. What I understand is that Marie-France had a music in mind for this season but she said it was more a music for the Olympics so better keep it by their side and see later on.

They're exploring Hip hop in their new exhibition and they worked all year with Sam Chouinard so I think they gonna pick hip hop for the SD. I can envision sultriness which they do well. I hope they gonna go for a more full on dramatic FD with loads of energy. It would be a nice contrast compared to the two last ethereal FDs. I think their new SD version was going in that direction, it looked way more energetic than at the Euros, a bit more in the Woodkid FD spirit. But @Alain06 could tell us, he saw both programs live.

Could you please share the link of their ex program? I couldn't find any available video of their ex program anywhere.I cannot wait to watch it.

Yes please!

I'll summarize a bit. This interview is post Boston.

Even though they reached a high at only 20 and 21, they know they'll yet again start from scratch at the end of the 2015/2016 season. "In our horizon, there is the 2018 Olympics and it's gonna come faster than we think" warns Cizeron who has already ideas of themes, choreography and music.
"It will be even tougher as we will have to innovate yet again and find new ideas" adds Gabriella who acknowledges the difficulty to find their program this season. "We wanted to do so well that we were questioning (doubting) everything, it was a peculiar season for us". If this second title has a completely different feel than the first one, it's because it validated their FD skated on Build a Home according to Gabriella. "Even though we are just starting our career and are still quite young, we're making a mark on ice dance and I hope we can keep on doing it" mentions Cizeron, who even design the couples' costumes.
"This new FD meant that our first title was not just the result of an idea or a concept, this time around we created sg more personal, more abstract and daring than last year's FD and it was well received" says Gabriella.
"We want to innovate, do what nobody has ever done before and take our skating to a new direction " summarizes Gaby who is passionate about music. During the 1,5 month of gala coming up, each of them will work to find ideas and will share their ideas when they come back to train in Montreal.
"2017 is a special season, an important one: we want to give everything, but also not show everything. We need to be strategic in our choices to be able to give it our best in the Olympic year. We can't propose the same type of programs 2 years in a row or the same for the music" says Gaby.
She adds " we are far, far from perfection, we can improve in every areas"
About training alongside V/M, "It is a bit scary but inspiring, motivating and it will enrich our experience" conclude Gaby.

Hopefully not to much lost in translation.

Here is a link of a very interesting and personal interview post Boston from P/C where they relive their FD explaining what's going on in their minds at that moment.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn70ulzFufM

I translated to the best of my abilities, it follows the flow of the interview.

Gaby says more than winning they wanted to create a moment and sg really special people and they could remember.
Guillaume explains how just before entering the ice rink it is the toughest moment as they experience opposite energies of both wanting to run away and at the same time wanting to already be done performing.
When the announcer calls their names, they have a small ritual to look at each other but that time at Worlds when they started to look at each other, they thought they would start crying.
Then Gabriella goes on explaining how when they're face to face, they are just 2 human beings in front of one another, sharing something very intense, they're extremely connected as if there was nothing else going on around them as if she was not wearing skates or a skating costume anymore, just one soul connected to another.
Guillaume then explains how they're present yet not really, a bit like an out of body experience. For Gaby, they were very present in the moment and time felt like stretched. They were in total controlled of themselves.
For Guillaume, they experienced an incredible moment even more important than just skating. They don't think in terms of elements like "great we succeeded our twizzles". They enjoy the beauty of that moment so much it's hard for them to get out of that state of mind. When it's all over, they looked at each other and the moment is already gone, but will stay with them forever in their heart.
Gaby adds it's something they'll never experience again but that life anyway will fly by and that one day they'll die. To which Guillaume suggests people watching this interview will believe they have smoked some weird stuff
Finally, the important moment was on the ice whatever happened afterwards is secondary.

Thanks your guys for all the update!:)

I love their new EX! They can dance well! Further, their dance skill will be improved more and more with their experience!

BTW, Japanese TV aired FD. The guest commentator is Kenji Miyamoto (choreographer and ex-ice dancer). I don’t know you may hope, but I introduce some comments.
----------------

(After the performance)

(sigh) Splendid.. I just got into it..

(Preview)
(About stationary lift)
These days, skaters do complex type of lifts, so this lift with both feet together (of P/C) may seem easy. But actually, taking this pose itself is difficult. I think their lift is wonderful.

(twizzle)
The distance between the two is nice.

(Movement)
They keep moving and always do something. It gives a good expression (to judges?).

------------------------------

Kenji is not a type of commentator who talks many, emotionally, so he spoke calmly as usual. But from his tone of voice, I could see how he was moved (it’s a shame I lack the video).

Further, they got an interview of JP TV after winning! They just yelped with delight and so adorable! When they are on ice, they are like movies stars and make the adult atmosphere. But off ice, they are just 20-21 couple!

Thank You hamaguri :luv17:
It's good to know the opinion of others commentators (not english).
I hope to have also the feeling of german, spanish, italian, russian etc commentator. :agree:

Here's a translation of the SD RaiSport commentary. Arianna Secondini and Fabrizio Pedrazzini (he's a former ice dancer and now a technical specialist). Honestly, not the most insightful or unbiased commentators, but let's hear all the gushing:

0:22 AS: Now, let's watch the defending World champions, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron

3:32 AS: That's their unmistakable style, that has brought them on top of the world. Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, they've won their second European title this year, and they're defending their World title. This season was difficult for them, Gabriella was forced to skip all the first half, but they were able to bounce back, and they're so soft and fluid on the ice.

FP: That is their main characteristic, that has set them apart since their second year in Seniors. They have been vice Junior World Champions, and back then they skated to rock music. Since last year, they've grown more sophisticated, drawing from contemporary dance and classical dance. Hence their incredible exploit last year.

AS: Their coach Romain Haguenauer has joined the Montreal group, Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon. Since last year, they've found this unmistakable style of theirs, that makes them unique on the ice

FP: Gabriella had a slight wobble on the twizzles. Their softness, their fluidity, their ability to use their knees is what makes them so interesting to watch while executing their programs. Their softness of knees makes them able to do all the elements in a eye-pleasing way

AS: Their new SD costumes are beautiful, even more theatrical. Yesterday they had a problem with twizzles while training...

FP: Today they haven't been perfect on their twizzles, either. Gabriella had some difficulties, but all their elements got Level 4 anyway

AS: Let's wait for the score that's going to define the SD ranking. They're on top with 76.29 points, 38.46 TES- extraordinary!-,and very high PCS, 37.83.

then at 9:13 Pedrazzini says: There's no way to deny that they do what [judges] want to see now. It's not traditional Ice dancing, but it's sophisticated and high-quality

And then the FD RaiSport commentary.
starting at 0:32
AS: I can smell the gold medal – Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are in the lead with 76.29 and they are the defending World champions

4.59
AS: Magic, perfection, passion on the ice! Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are the defending World champions – Will they be world champions again? Ther's no doubt about it.

FP: In this competition, +4 GOE is needed for this. Look, they're receiving a standing ovation

AS: They were marvellous, it was beautiful to hear the audience clapping throughout the program, a perfect unison between them, the audience, the magic they are able to create [this one is a stock phrase by Secondini]: Congratulations or, more appropriate in their case, chapeau! You charmed us.

FP: It's a sort of magic, it's like a fairy tale. Once they start, you don't understand anything

AS: It's all so soft and fluid, as if they were one on the ice, such an unison, a fusion of two on the ice, it's like a spell. Few skaters can do that.

FP: It all seems so disarmingly effortless. And they fly away, entering the elements with such softness, and with no preparation. Guillaume makes every gesture with all his body.

AS: Look at how perfect they are! They're soft and neat

FP: Their music is so intense. Look at this lift: she falls on his back like a drop, they hit every accent and they are so delicate in changing position

AS: And they always keep their theatrical quality...

FP: Such speed, too, impressive!

AS: It's so beautiful! And their coaches are skating with them!

AS and FP: Faboulous! Bravi!

AS: Such a gorgeous couple, competing together since they were children, such a long journey, such a difficult season, but they were able to bounce back

FP: Their score is going to be...[very high]

AS: 194.46!

FP: They are scared [by how high it is]!

AS: 118.17, 59.38 TES, 58.79 PCS [ she starts elencating their PCS scores]

FP: Romain was risking a stroke!

Thank you bartlebooth
an interesting comment from italian.

I agree 100%.

Et si quelqu'un pouvait traduire/résumer aussi les propos des anglais (en français). Parce que je les adore tout simplement

Thanks a lot bartlebooth, it's very nice to have the foreign commentators translated. And there's never enough gashing, I love hearing it in all langages  If someone else want ot translate Tatiana or the spanish commentators, you're more than welcome.

Thank you everybody for your kind words. I've tried with the Spanish commentary too (any corrections welcome):

Teledeporte commentary by Paloma del Río and Susana Palés

SD

PdR: There's only the last couple left, the defending champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron. They're 20 and 21, they are competing together since they were children, 8 or 9 years old, they're two-time European champions in the last two editions, they couldn't compete in the GPF this season, because she hit her head in a fall while training, it took her a long time to recuperate, but now here they are to defend their title, won last year in Shanghai

3:30 PdR: This is spectacular

3: 35 What can we say about these kids, such a level of concentration, of expression... Amazing! Amazing! Look at their TES, 38.49 their PSt is Level 4, with + 2.67 GOE, the maximum would be +3.

SP: They are both gorgeous skaters, but he in particular is so elegant and a great dancer. They are both gorgeous, of course, but he is capable of leading her with such ease...

PdR: They're impressive! And it's very noticeable - how old are they, 20 and 21? - the fact that they've been skating together for more than half of their lives

SP: Wonderful couple! Wow!

PdR: It's marvellous to watch them! Their PCS are higher than the Italians' – 9.32 is the lowest score for them SS 9.43, IN 9.54, higher than 9.50, which is enormous. The highest PCS so far are 36.92 for the Shibutanis, and this was the 30th and last couple to skate and they'll break 37 points. Credit is due to Romain Haguenauer for ther music choice, what sets them apart from the rest is Romain Haguenauer's influence. He previously worked for so long with Muriel Zazoui, then he quit her team and he went to Montreal with Marie-France[Dubreuil] and Patrice[Lauzon].

SP: How lovely, how perfect, such edge quality... both gorgeous...and such a feeling

PdR. Technically speaking, no remarks to make, all Level 4s, + GOE

SP: They're going to place ahead of the Shibutanis

PdR: They're going to be in first, even if not with an insurmountable gap in the FD. They improve their SB of 6 points! Even if it's true that they didn't compete much this season.

FD

PdR: Now it's up to the defending champions with their sensational program. They're 20 and 21 years old, this is the 3rd season in Seniors for them, last year they were European and World Champions, this year European champions and - let's enjoy! Let's enjoy this!

1:31 Marvellous!

3:52 Amazing!

4:30 Marvellous!

SP: Please, let the program last 4 minutes more!

PdR: It's something else... it's like a soap bubble. What concentration, what synchronicity, what harmony between them

SP: They are two skating as one

PdR: It's marvellous to watch them! And such speed.

SP: How lovely, as I said before, if only it could last more, it's so relaxing. It's all so delicate
Of course, all Level 4s, the twizzles, good edges and synchronicity

PdR: They're exceptional

SP: He's such an awesome dancer! Good body positions

PdR: Well, Marie-France and Romain Haguenauer were suffering... they're a good team... the've worked with Antonio Najarro last year for the SD... Their SB was 111 points, and now with 118.17 they go in the lead. They're going to defend their title... this score is out of reach, for two years European and World Champions

SP: And to think of what they've been through

PdR: This season has been rough, she had an injury right at the beginning...

Thanks bartlebooth, thanks cocotaffy, thanks everyone who gives photo, interview, report, translation etc. It's difficult to get their information here in Japan. I feel gratidude for your members!

AS: Such a gorgeous couple, competing together since they were children, such a long journey, such a difficult season, but they were able to bounce back

Yes, lovely words. They have had long journey. They had hardships. And then, they came back. Everyone is delighted with this. Further, they are still young and has the blight future! We are looking forward to seeing what they will show from now on!

Thanks for the translation bartletooth, it's great we have so many international posters so we can truly enjoy and understand all those videos. I love the spanish commentators and the video are always in HD, such good quality.
I also found an excellent quality video of the whole last group for the FD commented by BBC Robin Cousins and Katherine Downes. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x41gzjy_2016-wc-ice-dance-fd-g4-bbc_sport
It's interesting because they seem to be a bit more critical and less OTT with the praises, so maybe more objective. Nico Ichi, the uploader has uploaded the other groups as well and the warm ups. Very nice job.
