Yes, extremely impressive, but especially Guillaume. Gabriella is the same age or older than quite a few of this Worlds' ice dance ladies. Maia Shibutani is only 10 months older, for example. In May they will both be 21.

Thanks for the info, so they were among the youngest then but not the youngest. Still impressive.
an old interview when they were for the first time the first national french juniors champ. always in french but I found them really cute ...

Impressive indeed. They have a bright future ahead.
If I'm not mistaken, Tessa and Scott were 19/21 when they won the oylmpic title and Meryl and Charlie were 21/22. Maybe this is the age when the best teams rise.![]()
I'm looking forward to see Gabi and Guillaume competing with Tessa and Scott next season! Imo the French have the first chance, but the battle seems to be very interesting.:hap85:
Now I'm craving a macaron
and me I'm craving foie gras with a glass of Chablis, the impossible food to get where I live Article published in a local newspapers with cute little insights on their partnership:

Slightly shorten translation:
Gabriella "We are on tour with the French figure skating team from the 4th of April to the 7th of May. This tour allows us to keep in touch with the ice waiting for the first national and international competitions beginning of October."
At nearly 21 yrs old, the young woman is shy. But according to Guillaume she is "a funny girl, quite absent-minded. She often forgets something. She was seen coming to the ice rink forgetting her skates. She often loses her passport, phone, her exhibition outfits." The young man dishes out on his partner ...
But while we're at it, Gabriella can also provide some facts on her long-time friend "He is very stubborn. He has hard time to admit when he's wrong. But I've learnt to tame him." she laughs " To be honest, we rarely have a go at one another but when we get annoyed, we skate even better. Our coaches are stunned every time."
Playing couple on the ice, in real life they are more like "brother and sister" according to Guillaume. " It's difficult to define our relationship. Gabriella is a friend. I would even say a sister to me. We don't need to talk, one look is enough to understand one another. We are a functioning winning duo."
Partner 300 days a year, they know each other by heart. " I know for instance that Guillaume's guilty pleasures are macarons and crumble. Mine ? adds Gabriella, it's foie gras. Love it !" If they share their passion full time, they try to keep a private life. "It's hard, very hard recognizes Guillaume. Not because of our partnership but because of our professional sportsman career. As athlete, we're constantly moving around or training. In that context, it makes it difficult to make time for someone else."
I think their friendship is quite unique and clearly contributes significantly to their success. Building a success together for a couple is such a big challenge. It's not obvious at all. In the case of Gabriella and Guillaume, I am just thinking of all those years when they were kids then adolescents and now adults. It's hard to imagine. During these years, everything changed deeply: their bodies, their minds, loves, their relatons to others, and so many other things as well.
Even though they have their own private lives outside of the rink, it's so obvious they have a huge commitment to each other. It can't be otherwise. Also the fact they almost never have disputes, max twice a year... Amazing...
