Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Guys, can you film their practices if you can, it's so great to watch. Please, pretty please for us poor souls who can't attend. Have a great time in Helsinki and Alain, if you talk to them, please tell them how much we love what they do, their amazing artistry and all the emotions they convey.

Hi Cocotaffy,
G&G just arrived today in Helsinki. They should (will) be at the practice tomorrow evening in the main rink. I will be in the Hartwall Arena for sure with my camera. Sure, I will tell them and will give your nicknames (not sure "cocotaffy" will ring a bell to them )

Thanks Camille. This is definitely a great interview. Indeed the last sentence is very interesting...

I think the short dance is very restrictive pattern-wise, and Gaby and Guillaume have so much flow and speed, that to restrict them in space and everything it’s always been tricky – because they like to expand and be very fluid. And all of this, and what’s required in a short dance to be contained between the midline and these lines, and all that pattern-thing, is not allowing them right now to grow to their full potential. But we have a strategy for Worlds to just shift a little bit things in their short dance, so it can fully grow.

You're very kind :agree:, and no, my nickname will certainly not ring any bell but might make them giggle as it sounds a bit silly

You are already in Helsinki... It's good you can encourage them and wish them good luck (the french version:M....:)). I will be at the practice saturday morning... I will not visit the city at this time

Yeah I also quoted this sentence !! I can't wait for Friday to see the improvements ! I love this paragraph, it seems that they are too "wild" (in a good way, sorry it's a little late and by brain won't work anymore) for the restrictive pattern of the SD and I understand their littles difficulties in Ostrava.

Just in case you want to know, ISU published this afternoon the planned program content for each program. And it's seems they didn't do any change in both programs (component or order)

Well, that's all for today. Good night (or good day) and see you tomorrow :)

I think you're referring to the technical elements, right? I don't expect any changes there. Changes will be elsewhere. The point is to see how they combine the elements, manage the space, the timings and transitions (especially for the step sequences). Let's see tonight at the short dance practice!

Yup that's right ! And I didn't expect any change on the technical elements too but improvements on the transitions, etc as you said it !
Let's see tonight 😀

Hi Guys,

1. they were both extremely focused, exactly like they were at the FD practice in Ostrava.
2. the twizzles are extremely well performed, I guess they worked hard to reach that level (and I include the transition between the twizzles as well)
3. they have tremendously improved both step sequences (partial and midline). Compared to what I saw in Marseille and Ostrava, it's definitely great. Sounds like it took time to reach this level as well but they managed to reach it, that's the only thing that counts in the end
4. the end phase is changed. Gabriella jumps over Guillaume as you can see in the 2nd video. This is quite unexpected I must say and a bit daring at the end of the short program.
