Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Found this article about Jeffrey Cirio, explaining the work is doing with P/C :
"What’s up next, Jeffrey Cirio?
First I’ll do Mexico City, for the festival there. I’ll do Rubies with Lauren Lovette. Then I’ll go to Montreal to work with two Olympic ice skaters on movement quality for a week. After that, I fly out to London, where I will be doing a dual guest contract with English National Ballet. So I’ll be there for four months, from August to January 1. Then it’s back to ABT.
"
Stting the barre - August 9th
From what I've seen of clips of him online his movement quality is out of this world. So that's good........

I'm hoping he's helping them nail that rumba pattern, cause IMO T/D had the best rumba pattern of them all, a beauty of sizzled precision.

i think that that pattern is being made a set pattern.....or under discussion to be one..... (if you are referring to 1994 rumba) (I think you might be referring to the old comp dances)

They look like they have a real connection. I would expect there to be more of an affinity between him and them than with say any of the North American teams: the way they interview is very similar.

Looking forward to seeing Gabi and Guillaume rumba. They need to have a great SD. They need to be very close to V/M after this portion of competition. The last season showed that even the fantastic FD will not be enough to beat Tessa and Scott, if they are too far behind them after SD.

Yes I was indeed referring to their 1984 CD but their 1994 Rhumba was great too and I don't even particularly like Rhumba even on the dance floor, definitely my least favorite Latin rhythm, and the SDs I've seen this past week didn't change my mind. The middle Rhumba section is slow and dragging on. It's a bit boring as if the teams don't know how to interpret this part at all. Hopefully with more mileage will see improvements.

Hi everyone,

Was in Montréal in August hence I went to Gadbois to meet our champions and see them rehearsing both SD and FD olympic programs.
if they were late, August last year, in their preparation, I can tell you they are ready hence they want to start the competitions ASAP.

Both SD and FD are spectacular. I completely love their SD. When you put together an ice dance legend, such as Christopher Dean, with two young great champions & artists like Gaby & Guillaume, the outcome is fantastic. The FD choreography & music are gorgeous and the work with Jeffrey Cirio was tremendous.

Transitions in both SD and FD programs are just incredible. It's just like a flow which ends only once the music stops. Be ready for a lot of emotions....

And, of course, some pics I took in Montréal:

Thanks so much for reporting! It sounds like everything that most people would underline as being needed for a great Olympic season (being ready earlier for competitive momentum, having a great SD, getting great input from outside Gadbois influences to differentiate them from the rest of their training "partners", and having really great transitions- their "weakest" component sore) have all been addressed; and we'll all be able sit back and enjoy their artistry and talent relieved of competitive concerns. About three weeks till Finlandia! Can't wait! I won't ask what the musics are: I know you're a classy fella and won't divulge!

Yeah, they will participate to the Filandia Trophy. It's not a wish of the coaches only. I would even say it's mostly the wish of Gaby and Guillaume. They are ready and can't wait competing and getting feedback from the judges.
Some judges already went to gadbois to given them a feedback on their programs but it's always different when it comes to an official int'l competition. The choice of the Filandia Trophy is clever, as it's scheduled the week following the French Masters and before the first Grand Prix.

Indeed I know the music choices but I promised to not reveal them.

Thanks Alain:)
I count the days too before the masters and the Finland trophy (I go back to Finland)

Thank you so much, . Everything you wrote is really good news for Gabriella and Guillaume fans (and for themselves, naturally :)).

Well, V/M and H/D got some outside input too - it's just not talked about that much, as people who helped them are not such big names in comparison to Dean etc.

About being able to enjoy Gabriella and Guillaume's skating and artistry without competitive concerns - we will very likely be able to do that while watching them at their earlier competitions, but all evedince and word on Virtue/Moir's training, as well as their showing at the High Performance Camp, says that they are also very well prepared, so I don't think either P/C or V/M fans will be able to completely get rid of those competitive concerns, especially for the GP Final and Olympics where they will compete together. Although, in my opinion, it's a good thing. I want to see a great competition between these two and also in general.

I am so sorry, alain06fr. I accidentally deleted your username in my previous post where I thanked you, but noticed it only after posting and couldn't edit my post on the phone. So, thanks a lot once again.

Thanks Alain for your report.
It's a relief to see that P/C will compete in Finland. It's always a good thing to have an intl feedback and not a french feedback before the big rendez-vous.
i hope the sd is great because they must not lose too much with their SD vs VM (as this year).

Great to have news at last! Really looking forward to seeing the new programmes.I hope they have a super SD .Not worried for their FD but they really need a great SD and hopefully be in the lead or only a point or two behind the Canadians. It's going to be a crazy exciting season!

 what would we do without you. We were all craving tidbits of news especially now teams are starting to unveil their programs. Good they started early, they're smart and hardworking talented young people with a vision, so I had no doubts they would learn from their mistakes. Last season was trying (like the one before actually but in a different way) and it was the right moment to experience growing pains. During olympic season, no time for doubts.
Which competitions do you plan to attend this year ?

Nom worries lauravvv ;) BTW, you're right, many couples are ready earlier compared to previous years, such as H/D, V/M, etc. Now for Gaby and Guillaume, it's quite spectacular compared to last year but, as we know, they wanted to challenge themselves with Stillness/Oddudua. In Ostrava (so in January 2017), Gaby told us they were in touch with a famous dancer/choreographer (she was obviously referring to Jeffrey Cirio) which let me think that they meticulously prepared the olympic programs long time ago. And I guess Christopher Dean was contacted early last season too. Honestly, there was hardly better choice than Christopher Dean for rumba and samba!

Last season, the SD was a pain for Gaby and Guillaume. SD step sequences were modified so many times... forcing them to change the choreography as well. One can say this SD was probably never finalised.

This season is completely different. The SD was perfectly designed from the start (well, with Christopher Dean, it could be hardly otherwise). I guess you will love the SD music choice (two masterpieces). This SD is very catchy imHo, with a lot of energy and, on top, there's a tremendous step sequence which perfectly fits with the music and demonstrates Gaby and Guillaume's talent.

I will attend the French Masters, the French GP in Grenoble, Europeans and Worlds for sure.
