Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Thank you Alain for all this information :agree: I hope that everyone that get to go to masters will enjoy the programms !

I wonder about the costumes too, but right now, I'm all about knowing which SD song they'll be using, even though it's more about the beat and the performance than about the song itself. But for MS... I want to see that ! I don't know if we'll get quality footage at the masters though...

MR and MS really doesn't sound right for me. Don't know if I watched to many medical show but MS only makes me think of Multiple Sclerosis as for MR reminds me of MRI but they usually say MR (at least on those shows, I wouldn't know in real life, I'm no doctor) So I think I'll keep spelling them out

You know if it's Guillaume who designed the costumes?

Guillaume is definitely an extra-terrestrian in the ice dance world and in the ice dance history.
I don't remember (may be some else does) of an ice dancer so gifted in many different arts.

He's passionate about gymnastic and dance. He's BTW a fantastic dancer (I mean outside the ice), practicing different styles, including ballet dances.

He makes stunning sketches. He studied at Les Beaux-Arts ("School of Fine Arts"). Just being admitted in this prestigious French school is already such a big challenge, even for talented designers.

He has always been passioned about fashion design. I know it sounds unbelievable but Guillaume has been designing the costumes of P/C since he was quite young. So, Maya, to answer your question, Guillaume designed the costumes. BTW, he designed the costumes of Laurence and Nick.

Savchenko and Massot are performing at Nebelhorn this weekend- worth checking out because they had Dean input. The short dance is tomorrow. (it seem the input might only have been on the free)

I'm most looking forward to seeing the short from G and G: I can imagine that Dean, in finding a couple with the level of skating skills that G and G have, has really, really challenged them (on top of how much Romain will have done); and been able to realise a lot ideas he won't have been able to realise with other skaters. I'm hoping there will be couple of those the choreography is so good that it has to be clapped moments- like the march with cape drag in the Capriccio Espagnol, or the part where Dean leans on Torvill in the 1994 Rhumba.

I'm also very much looking forward to seeing the presto section of the free skate: I don't think we have had a really fast paced free skate section from them since 2014, and it will be interesting to see what difference there is in feel between what they do now compared to what they did back then.

Ooooh, I remember her fab flamenco dress with the bright red underlining from Autumn Classic! (Is 'underlining' the right word here?) So that was Guillaume's design too?!

Exactly, this beautiful flamenco dress was created & designed by Guillaume.
I had so much fun talking to her and to Nick in Gadbois. Both are extremely proud Guillaume designed their costumes. My feeling is they are really impressed by Guillaume's talent as fashion designer.

thank you yet again alain06fr for this interesting insight - for me, it proves that Guillaume 'stretches' his passion for art in general into various areas of his activity. I think that he did a fantastic job in design for Laurence and Nikolai - both sets of costumes fit perfectly in programs' character, I'm especially a fan of FD costumes - they have that modernity in style, but still Flamenco in flavour. All with this specific kind of French sophistication about it. And both dresses Laurence has are moving quite beautifully in movement, which is another sign of how thoughtful Guillaume is.

Best for them at French Masters and about this guessing theme running there about not typical Latin music Gabriella and Guillaume are using for their SD - some time ago I pictured them to use something sang in French and I think the unusual choice fitting them could be 'Mirage' by Matt Pokora, it has distinct samba beat, but is more of a 'modern' choice:). But it's only an idea/wild guess

Dean choreographed this- maybe give us an idea of what to expect tomorrow.

Savchenko and Massot Short program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTmP_gspWmE

Dean def. did their free, but maybe not the short........ It seems the conflation of choreographers on the isu Bio may have falsely given the impression that all choreographers listed did both programmes.....

In my opinion, Coomes/Buckland's SD ranks among the best (if not the best) Latin SDs we've seen so far this season. The SD felt like one whole and not disjointed like many of the other SDs we've seen thus far. And the Dean choreo... simply marvellous, nothing more to say.

I liked them both as programs: really felt that both pairs were being technically pushed, and probably hadn't yet come up to the level of the of the material they were given. Interestingly, Coomes/Buckland's SD scored higher than Weaver/Poje or Gilles/Poirier at Autumn Classic; and I think just a little higher than Hubbell and Donohue at the US international.

Absolutely, there's still (particularly for Aljona and Bruno) a long way to go to live up to the material, but the intricacy in both routines is masterful.

Correct, Coomes/Buckland currently have the highest-scoring SD right behind V/M.

I think he didn't choreograph Savchenko and Massot's SP, but their FP.

I pulled that info from the 2017-2018 programmes thread, but you may well be right (and I seem to remember having that understanding from previously): it may be that the person that wrote the information just took the conflated information from the Isu bios for the Savechenko and Massot and extrapolated that all choreographers listed were responsible for both programmes.

I shall edit my previous posts accordingly: thanks Rossig.

I only wish Dean hadn't included some of the very same steps he and Jayne did to that same music.
