Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

I actually thought that it's the first time they have BOTH a positive and right discussion about P/C and their programs.

I agree. It was much more balanced than usual; in terms of the overall discussion. But at the same time (and this is a critique of The Skating lesson in general) the analysis of the skate felt secondary to the discussion about the discussion around P and C. I think that the skaters themselves were discussed in a way that made them sound as having a secondary role in their own career compared to Marie-France. i don't think that's the case.

Thanks:)

I hope there will be no (bad) surprise for the levels (the technical specialist is... Canadian)

Canadian specialist or not, it's a pity they won't have any strong team to compete against - the only other team from this year worlds' top 10 to appear here is going to be Stepanova/Bukin. Such a pity Anna and Luca had to withdraw. Still, it will be nice to see the Danes and the Polish couple.

Yup, that's exactly why I think it'll make its way on youtube somehow :) It really is ridiculous, the other challengers (except for the US Classic) were free of charge too, even last year I believe that Finlandia was streaming for free. I get that they have the best lineup of all the challenger competitions, but this price is too high imo. In case there were no videos of the SD even after this weekend, good for Gaby and Guillaume, no video from the Masters made it on youtube, and if the same happened with Finlandia now, it'd give them even more time to grow the SD. Though I doubt that they'll get away with it again

What's so great about the Finlandia lineup? Autumn Classic had Yuzu and Javier, plus the top three Canadian dance teams, who were all in the top ten. I don't see any real competition at Finlandia outside of pairs. Am I missing something?

C/L are skating in Cup of Nice and Coombes/Buckland.

Thanks for the info, brushalley. Glad to know that C/L will be competing in a B competition before their first GP event (NHK Trophy). I hope that Anna's hand is healed enough now, and they won't have to withdraw again.

Hello there, hope you all have a good day !!

There is a little interview in french from Romain where he talks about his work this season, the results and feedbacks from the last Masters, the programs modifications due to those feedbacks, the importance for G&G to take the habit to skate in the morning bc of the OWG schedule and the importance of the challenger events : http://www.lamontagne.fr/clermont-f...ivent-se-roder-selon-leur-coach_12578523.html

Thanks for the interview.:)
seriously some V/M fans are too nice:rolleye:: they made a video of this season's program with music from last year. It is already on twitter, vimeo ... Objective: prove that P/C always does the same program:noshake:. it does not go at all but they are happy. We are only in October, what will it be in February?:drama:

ahahaha I saw that, that's funny..... :palmf:
I answered them (and surely lost my time...) that there's no match between the MS rhythm and the last year choreography.
I think there is and there will always be detractors for each skater/pair/couple. By the way only judges and officials' opinions counts

All I've noticed from that video is that last year's music was so complicated and extremely difficult for dancing, but GG's performance at worlds was breathtaking. There is a different program this year with different emotions I think. But some people will like it, others will don't like. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. On a Russian forum I've read that probably they should try to do Carmen to prove that they can be versatile. But every year we see a few Carmens on the ice. So if it is a sign of versatility for people, I don't know what to say...

Okay, this is just TOO GOOD and very funny !
Imagine if they did Carmen :
-Wow they copy V/M
-Wow they copy this and that, they have no originality...
-They do Carmen with their contemporary vibe, do another thing !
-Why did they choose Carmen ? you call that versatility ?

When you want to criticize you can always find something.

But guys always remember to cheer for the teams that you like, ignore the trolls online, and if you have respect never criticize badly/trash another team. I, personally, am a BIG fan of Ice Dance, and I pretty much love all the teams. I tend to prefer other teams for obvious reasons (music, mouvement, style, etc...) but at the end of the day you can like every team at the same time. Not every V/M fans are P/C anti-fans and vice-versa. I personally like both very much and I just prefer P/C because of their style. When you start ignoring all the bad things on the ice dance fandom, things get better I promise

I know I'm bad, but........can i get a link for the video, please?: I've looked and can't find it.

Edit: now worries, just found it.
Edit: Hahahaha! They don't match at all. Except for the combination spin which is pretty much in exactly the same place in the programme and goes with both sets of music And that's about it. Although they are both about four minutes long, which I rather think is down to it being a requirement of the ISU. Just nonsense.

So, just an anecdote. People talk about the "greekness" of Gabriella but they forget that her mother is french. I found out that her maiden name is "Soubiran". This is a very old french name (apparently nobility) from the South of France. (Maybe you know about Bernadette Soubirous, name is very resembling.) I looked out on google/wikipedia and found a few famous personalities called Soubiran (a writer/doctor, 2 carmelites). What is stunning is their faces' shape(long type) and traits. It looks so much like Gabriella, though she has her father's nose.

What is more amusing is "Gabriella Soubiran/Guillaume Cizeron", same sound for first name and last name. Just wondering if those two were meant to be together as a couple in ice dance. What I find interesting is the nobility aspect and spiritual (beatified carmelite), I think we find it in Gabriella's skating too. She puts her soul on the skating rink, in her skating, towards Guillaume, and we often see her in some ecstatic state (like a religious ecstasy), and this is not faked at all. She and Guillaume are never "fake".
