Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

So, just an anecdote. People talk about the "greekness" of Gabriella but they forget that her mother is french. I found out that her maiden name is "Soubiran". This is a very old french name (apparently nobility) from the South of France. (Maybe you know about Bernadette Soubirous, name is very resembling.) I looked out on google/wikipedia and found a few famous personalities called Soubiran (a writer/doctor, 2 carmelites). What is stunning is their faces' shape(long type) and traits. It looks so much like Gabriella, though she has her father's nose.

What is more amusing is "Gabriella Soubiran/Guillaume Cizeron", same sound for first name and last name. Just wondering if those two were meant to be together as a couple in ice dance. What I find interesting is the nobility aspect and spiritual (beatified carmelite), I think we find it in Gabriella's skating too. She puts her soul on the skating rink, in her skating, towards Guillaume, and we often see her in some ecstatic state (like a religious ecstasy), and this is not faked at all. She and Guillaume are never "fake".

what the hell lmao

I'm surprised Gabriella even has parents. She's such a goddess I thought she came straight out of the ocean like Aphrodite.

I'm like a kid before Christmas. I just can't wait. A piece from the warmup looked great and so hot.

Score: 78.09

Thank you so much for the link, VikiLeeks  I can't believe I've already seen it. There were issues in the streaming, so I've seen only some parts. Probably, there are things to improve, but I liked it. :) What do you guys think?

Wowwwwwwww, what a performance!! I think it's their best ever short dance. Transitions in this programs are just incredible. There's not a single movement, a single element, a single choreography change without a smooth transition. This is just real dance. At some point, you can even feel like you watch a ballroom samba. Fantastic job!!!

Accidentally deleted my post from my phone it seems!

Anyway...that SD was amazing, I really loved it, more so than last year's!! I love how they are always so intertwined!

Looking forward to the free :) :)!

WOW WOW WOW that was tremendous!!!

Christopher Dean's sense of rhythm/choreography/transitions and Gabriella&Guillaume's fabulous execution! WOW

I understand now all the comments about the transitions from people who already saw it. I thought it was great !! Probably their best short dance honestly. But if we talk about the technical (because SD), I am pleasantly surprised : pattern, transitions, Non-touching step sequence and so on... It was really well done ! Now on to polishing all of that until February :D

PS : DO NOT mind the very rude YouTube comments please. Multiple accounts from one person, just like those fake P/C freak (who are like 1 or 2 people only with 10 accounts) that you see under V/M or Shibsibs videos. Just a warning.

The program is great, it is fresh, sexy and well executed. And I like P/C very much. But I am not sure I like Ed Sheeran in this SD. A weird feeling.:scratch2:

Amazing routine. Really great transitions in to the twizzles, out of the twizzles., in to the midline step sequence. Choreography felt incredibly packed. No sound from the stadium during the performance is always an atmosphere killer. Overall as good a routine as anyone is going to have this season. Only needs a little more polish (and maybe that lift is not the final lift, as there was a photo of Gabi in what looked like a different, higher position, but maybe that was just for the photo). The head turn during the choctaws in the set pattern is so them. Must have worked really hard and been really tested by this routine (and they are still very slightly under it at points, but it should only really need to be a season of practising rather than revising); the actual delivery of the elements overall looked excellent (am looking forward to the protocol). There was nodding and satisfied approval in the kiss and cry, so that's good. Plus it's good to have a sd score (nearly as high as their highest) at a not in France event. Well done!

One word I keep coming back to that I think is perfect to describe their SD is QUALITY - the costumes, the body movement, the execution, the choreography. Seriously, that choreography is something else - packed with content, there isn't a moment that'd feel empty, difficult transitions, little nuances, and it screams Latin (anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves). I can totally see them dance like this on the streets of Rio. At the same time, it's not overdone, it's a very sophisticated Latin, where both dancers are equally involved in the choreography - the spotlight isn't solely on the lady, as Latin dances tend to be, and it isn't only about Guillaume, either. Their interaction (especially in the non-touch stsq) is what makes this SD take your breath away. With that said, there's still a lot of polishing to be done - there were bits where I thought I'd like their movement to match a little better, the non-touch stsq is bomb but will be one hell of a b*tch to master. But obviously, the more they compete it and more mileage they have with it, the more sure of themselves they will be. Overall, it was a very good early outing of this SD!
