Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

What are the chances G&G will be at Worlds (after the Olympics)? Slim?

They will participate to all possible competitions considering they are so young, they love challenges (they even challenge themselves! as we could see with last season FD) and they worked tremendously and will continue working like never before on both SD an FD.
In the end, they are true competitors and true artists hence they never give up, never! They always look for improvements and perfection hence they are fully committed to winning all possible titles with their olympic programs plus they enjoy so much performing them.
This being said, their best reward is definitely the public award. The audience in Helsinki completely loved their FD and one could see Gabriella and Guillaume happiness at the end of the free dance. That was a great moment for them.
Anyhow, they have no plans to retire anytime soon so... :)

Tbh if they win the OGM I'd rather they do as much as possible to raise their exposure in France... We don't get many gold medalists in winter sports so they could be really big and if that means they have to skip worlds then so be it. If they get the silver they'll obviously be at worlds.

That is reassuring on many aspects : they had to learn how to compete so quickly ! First, by taking the WC title in their 2nd Senior year, then battling a concussion and coming back to defend 2 titles, and then Tessa & Scott coming back. I remember the 1st face-off at NHK, they were so nervous and so unprepared competitively speaking against such a huge team that they choked. They haven't skated their SD clean all season after that and left so many points on the table. They actually often seemed nervous on their 2016-2017 SD because it was said that it was not their strongest program, but I personally loved it : so light and smooth... I rewatch it from time to time, it's such a nice program.

They seem in such a better place mentally speaking, even the fall at Finlandia didn't hold them back for the rest of the FD (and that is qute the improvement), or for the rest of the GP series. I want them to hold their nerves, because they know they need to be competitive, however, they are not the D/W or V/M competitive style. It's a different type of conpetitiveness : focusing on their Dances, yet letting all the emotions out, instead of going for it like a bulldozer. Gaby impresses me : she could crumble under pressure, yet the more pressure there is, the best she skates.
I'm waiting for GPF, and whatever happens, I just want them to skate their best. Then it's in the hand of the judges. I personally just want to appreciate what they do (and for that matters, what all the teams do). I can't wait ! :yahoo:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:angry2::palmf::(:sad4::noshake:

The point is , what are chances thet V/M will be there, in Milan?

It doesn't really matter if V/M attend or not, they can't be scared of them anymore so if they want to compete there, they absolutely should. Anyway, I understood V/M wanted to end their career at the Olympics but it might depend whether they get gold. If not, they might want to try it one last time at Words.

Either V/M are OGM and there's no point for them to take the risk to end up their career by loosing the WC title in Milan.
Either V/M aren't OGM and in this case, they can't afford to loose once again in Milan
To me, zero chance to see V/M in Milan!

Exactly my thoughts. They came back for the Olympics not for Worlds. Plus a WC after Olys is just asking for more exhaustion, that's why they missed it last time. One of the "older" teams that will go is C/L because it will be their farewell, in Luca's hometown.
P/C want that title back I presume, plus Milan in barely a few kms from France, it's very easy to go there.

V/M are presented as being widely experienced and "the most everything".

If they are not OGM, V/M won't have any excuse, especially if they loose against a young couple of 22/23 hence be sure V/M will have to cope with a huge pressure in Japan and even more in South Korea, much more than P/C who will participate to their very first Winter Games.

Gabriella and Guillaume won their 2 Grand Prix and moreover broke both FD and overall WR twice with 200+ points within 2 weeks while V/M were making mistakes at NHK and never even reach the 200 points in 2 major competitions so far. For V/M, the challenge will be huge at both GPF and OG. One of the biggest challenge for V/M is to beat P/C at the free dance and, to me, I hardly see how V/M can beat P/C at the free dance without relying on P/C significant mistakes.
That's the way I see it.

P/C have nothing to loose and, as I said, Gabriella and moreover Guillaume are true competitors. They worked and continue to work tremendously their programs.

In the end, I really wonder who will be the most stressed in South Korea.

Yes, but Roast Toast posted that if they win , most probably they wont appear on WC because of lack of time. If there wont be Canadians, it would be shame. They would win for sure

No, Roast Toast would like them to take every bit of opportunity to promote the sport, even if it means skipping Milano. But it's not going to happen I'm 99% sure of that, they want that title back.

I didnt say that Roast toast would like something or not. She said that maybe they wouldnt show up after winning OGM. I just said that it would be a shame, especially with Canadians not participating there

They will do whatever they want. We just have to be patient and wait guys. So stop speculating on something we couldn't barely know ^^
Of course we all want to see them go further, but it's all in their hands. So just wait, and everything will be fine

What I meant was that if they win they might want to do a lot of press and maybe touring. All of France's medals in winter sports usually come from Biathlon or freestyle skiing, and we haven't had French figure skaters on an Olympic podium since Anissina & Peizerat in 2002... Gabi and Guillaume could make it really big if they play their cards right, they have already gone viral once this season after all. Personally I think they will go to worlds regardless of their medal because they are still so young and they don't seem burned-out at all but it's a possibility.

I know that V/M are extremely good but i also think they are a litle bit greedy.there are teams that don’t get the chance to go to the olympics so...

No. If a team wants to compete, the others have to keep up, this is still a competition. It's not V/M's fault that they are excellent.
And since this is their main rival Fan Fest, I don't see why we should criticize them anyway (especially since the huge majority of us, despite wanting P/C to win, is actually happy to see V/M skate and to see a nice battle) ;) It's like saying that P/C souldn't compete anymore if they win OGM because other teams don't get the chance to, haha
