Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

So I just watched "live" (well it wasn't really live but tomorrow it will be on this website online : https://www.afromotion.tv/afrotv/watch/bF )

Gaby fell between the pattern and the No-touch, nothing alarming at all. They had to start the No-touch "directly" they maybe lost a level because of that.

On the 1st set of twizzle Gaby went in a bit wild and at the end it was very wobbly, but again that's okay.

Actually I was really impressed with the performance. They obviously went there for the "show" and since they were "relaxed", they made silly mistake, but otherwise it was so nice to watch, and very powerful. Last year with mistakes, their performances were more "shut down", now it's like "doesn't matter !". Performance quality level 10

I'm happy the majority of judges didn't necessarily gave too many 10s because there was a fall, and it could have been a ton better of course. Their Pst was great (maximum GOEs) but it was level 3 too. Pattern was sooo good. They are SO trained it's crazy ! (watch and you'll see)

I think they score a bit like the GP (at least trying to respect some rules) especially because the 2nd spot has to be decided. And everybody can get better next time.

Well, it sounds like that week of rest over the holidays could not have come at a better time. Nothing's more silly than going to the Olympics completely exhausted so this just the frame of mind I would want them to be in.

I need to get to 100 posts so I can post a picture of my heroes next to my nickname! It's really important, because everyone will finally get to know who my favourites are!!
Yes, I'm actively applying to be added to Peepsquick's group of total nutters here!
Haaaaa, age doesn't mean anything! Youth is wasted on the young!! It's way more fun to be childish as an adult, woohoo!:hap10::hap57::dance3::yes2:

Oh: to not get an 'off topic' response, I will reinstate here my very daring prediction that I did on FB after the first showing of the new programs: Gaby and Guigui will win EVERYTHING they enter this year! Hooyyyiiiieeeee!!!:yahoo:

And Hello Gotlev ! Please post often :agree:! Anything can be said here, from critics to whatever suits your taste. Don't worry, all kinds of constructive critism are the best kinds. ;)
My dear Anyasnake, you didn't know what you were encouraging, right? 100 posts in just over a month!
OK, I'm going back to lying sick in bed now. No worries. The nurse will bring my pills in just a moment!
(How the bloggy hell am I going to survive more than a month without competitions? :drama:)

Another question: When I watch the 2015 Worlds SD, I find it really really good. Still their points are low. Can someone explain why? Obviously, I cannot judge any steps and skating, but was their FD so much cleaner? Not to my untrained eyes of course.

It looks like Guillaume's right arm sleeve has a blue stain on it (perhaps stained by Gabby's dress?). Is it just my eyes?
I notice it too, in fact, I think I might have seen it at GPF as well but thought it was my eyes then. I guess they'll have some time to fix the costumes now since they've barely had the time to catch a breath!

Also yes I love the slow-mo replay! I was actually pretty fascinated at their spins because you can see how tightly they're holding each other and yet they make everything seem so effortless. Only in their slow-mos do I recall that everything they do probably takes so much energy but they often skate without all that tension. Lovely!

I love those extra slow mo, wonderful expressions on both of their faces. The knee slide, so powerful it's my new favorite move along with the extra fast spin from them. It always cracks me when each season, some criticize their lack of wow elements (Nathalie Pechalat being one, she does love acrobatics lifts), specifically lifts and yet their programs always contain spectacular and unforgettable elements:
Mozart: the kiss (btw a lift)
Build a home: rotational lift plus the straight line lift where she changes 3 three times position ( oh my again a bunch of lifts)
Oddudua: extra low circular lift from Guillaume plus twizzles with extra sharp movements
Beethoven: rotational lift extra speed, wonderful straight line lift with Gaby's gorgeous position and that knee slide choreo lift
Those are all successful moves which get audiences and commentators all over the world raving and mesmerized.
But apart from that they need more wow lifts and elements so that people can finally state one day their choreography is too jammed pack, they should streamline
Congrats to them and now please GO TO BED :bed:

I have a (stupid) question. Does their score of 123 points for FD count as a record or it has to be an international competition?

I'm wondering exactly the same. If it is the case, C/L are the 2nd couple to reach the 200 points  and we can expect 125 points for V/M at Nationals + 85 in the short. No seriously, considering the overscoring at certain Nationals, I hope it is not taken into account officially.
ETA: ok thanks Vikileeks for the answer, it makes sense

It has to be an ISU competition to count so no, nationals scores aren't in the mix.

For information :

Max score for the SD : 85.3 (TES 45.30 PCS 40.00)
Max score for the FD : 124.70 (TES 64.70 PCS 60.00)
Max total score : 210.00

If the Nationals results counted as WR, Davis/White would actually be the first team to score over 200 (they scored 200.19 in 2014).
