Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

The pattern will be on the very new tea time foxtrot, created by Silvia Novak. So there will be a tempo and patterns to compare.
I don’t think musicals like “ notre dame de Paris” will feat the concept. They should look for Fred Astaire musicals or this type of atmosphere, if I understood properly ...

The new Tea Time Trotting Thingy was for Juniors IIRC.

Oh and the worst : NO compulsory. This is nuts, how are you supposed to compare skaters ? Next season the compulsory takes almost ONE minute of the whole SD, it's a real test of Skating skills, no more, no less. However, the following season, it's nothing. Okay I guess.
Yes absolutely. If we are going to keep some technical stuff in the competition, then everybody doing the exact same thing really is a great way to compare and measure. I like that element.
Was the compulsory dance of old a completely identical dance for all? Seems like almost impossible with the difference of technical level among the different teams, but it sounds so, well, compulsory. In the sense of not-free. If you get what I mean.

That not what I understood at all... but just the opposite. Totally new pattern too difficult for the advanced novices that’s why they will not have the same pattern as the junior... Are you 100% sure of it?
The RAI link to PC FD is still working here:

What I understood is that they want the Advanced Novices to do the pattern that they will give NEXT year to the Juniors. So that in fact, when the Novices move to Juniors, they do the same pattern as they did the year before. This way they can focus on other technical stuff, and have the dance pattern already under the belt. To give them a boost start so to speak.

Because the Tea Time Trotting Thingy is a NEW pattern, it is rather absurd to give it to the Novices FIRST, the year BEFORE the Juniors get to do it for the first time. So that's why they don't want to start their new system (of having Novices skate the Junior pattern of the next year) immediately next season.

It all had nothing to do with Seniors.

Thanks for the link, that works (still now at least).

Interview on the French broadcast C'est a vous, on youtube, not geo blocked (at least not in my country where everything is geoblocked lol) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrwHN1Ghocw

Nothing very new. They do talk about how they dealt mentally with the wardrobe malfunction. They looked at each other in panic but never considered for a moment stopping, mentioning the 5 points loss. Apparently MFD said to them afterwards she was about to shout to stop the music. Gaby talk about her thoughts process as it happened: "I can't believe it's happening at the Olympics but I also thought, this is the Olympics so we need to keep on". Guillaume explains how they are mentally trained to have extremely quick inner dialogue trying to rationalize when sg bad happens in order to get back in the game.

About downtime, they haven't taken any long vacations for 4 years and might do so at this end of such a tiring Olympic cycle (so I guess a late start for them next season).

Then you all get to finally see with your own eyes the famous Nelson Monfort, us French people keep b...ing about.

Little fun fact: Gaby's mum nearly gave birth on the ice, she had her contractions while skating and training.

They then mainly talk about how they begin together, how it was luck bringing them together at such a young age. They talk about her accident asking if they are now more worried about lifts now. She isn't particularly because she didn't fall on a lift. Sometimes trying new lifts she might ask him to put her down not feeling confortable but mainly they're confortable with it. He said he does feel a bit the pressure knowing if she falls it's his fault.

Finally, while on vacation Guillaume is adamant he won't go near a skating rink and the only ice he'll see is in his glass.

My comment: they really need a longer break than in a regular season, refresh, reset and restart.

Another smail interview after the competition http://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/sports-d-...d-europe-2022-juste-avant-les-jo-1403861.html

On the link, as we can learn that the grand prix final will be in france, they implied that Gabby and Guillaume may have thought taking long vacations and miss the grand prix saison next year, this final grand prix held in france could imply they will be push to be there all saison

You know I definitely entertained that idea of a break for them. Taking some deserved rest, cutting back on travel, giving themselves more time to pursue other fields of interest, resting and recharging mentally. Skipping the next GP season sounds like a reasonable idea, given how intense and long this season has been, including the tour commitments. But yeah, I can imagine the pressure to be present at GPF if it's in France. But at least start their season with a late GP event, skipping the B events all-together.

It will be in France in 2019. Next year Vancouver will host the event.

Oh I see. Then I certainly wouldn't mind them taking a longer break. The passion to create and improve is there I'm sure. But you need to take care of the body and the mind to keep the passion burning for long.

I'd hate for them not to participate at the GP series :( (Well, no for me, because I'm selfish )
But they must be exhausted mentally and physically. But I'm sure we'll see them anyway, the only thing is that they'll start late, in their first GP so around November.
They travelled too much this year, way too much :

Master's in France
Finlandia Trophy in Espoo, Finland a week later, then going back to Canada
Flying to Beijing, China for CoC, then go back to Canada
Go to Grenoble, France for IDF 2 weeks later
Going back to Canada and Fy to Japan for GPF 2 weeks later
Fly directly to Paris from Japan, do media and train at the same time with jetlag and going to Nantes for Nationals - They got a rest after that
Going back to Canada, train for 3+ weeks, then fly to Moscow, Russia for Euros
Going back to Canada, train 4 weeks intensively and going to Korea for the Games
From Korea, the flew to France, did 2 shows and media, then went to London for Dancing On Ice, then went back to Canada.
Trained for 10 days only, flying to Milano, and then going to Paris this morning.

And I felt tired just writing this. (That is 9 countries around the World and multiple back and forth between France and Canada...)
