BUT I didn't realize just how much this would affect me after the long wait. Thank God they came to Grenoble.
My thoughts exactly they could easily have skipped the whole GP after their couple of injuries but they don't often get to perform for the French audience - I know I was starting to go insane - and they delivered. I am really looking forward to seeing this dance develop over the season, they really haven't lost that much time.
They've always had talent beyond their years but what is really shining through in this RD for me is their increased maturity as dancers - to think we have a whole quad of this to look forward to! Romain is right, they really haven't peaked yet.
Everyone's complaining about camera angles at IdF bUT HAVE YOU SEEN THE SLOW MOs???? I'm probably still gonna be replaying those by the time the Final comes around (and also maybe while it is happening....)
Whoa whoa whoa they look SO grown up. Gabriella is a goddess and this look is EVERYTHING and excuse me but that slow motion close up of her on the curve lift can kill you and you're gonna like it. Talk about genuine, classy feeling and understanding of the whole thing and not just some OTT fake dramatic diva.

You are right about the Slow Mo. IdF did pretty well in that department last year too. For me it's the expression on Gabby's face during the first three moves. They actually replayed one look from two angles, with her face in profile.
wow, just wow. this was so mature, so danced to the very end of every single movement. their extensions are off the charts, not to speak of the depth of the edges. they left me astonished and humble. what a tango. they looked kind of majestic ( silly me, but that is what i felt) the only point i have to make is that, at least for me, the first part of the compulsory dance looked a little -let´s say "shy". they missed three keypoints in this part also. the german commentator ( hendrik schamberger, former bronze medalist at worlds) told us that the last keypoint of the first pattern isn´t to match, cause if the lady does it textbook, she would rush in the ring fence.... what a start in the season. can´t wait to see their fd tomorrow.

Wow. I was very skeptical and yet, they made it work brilliantly.
I can't wait to see how this program will grow as the season goes.
Gabriella is incredibly gorgeous. I LOVE thei hair style and the red lips. It looks really amazing on her. Like the commentator said: they ooze class. Guigui's costume is perfect thanks to the belt. It really changes everything.

Gaby has that dance in her blood, those looks, her styling, everything is spot on without over emoting. Guillaume, it's all in his posture and body language as always.
That level 1 pattern though threw me off but everyone seem to struggle. I have never seen a level 1 associated with P/C since 2013.
Anyway, I agree about their maturity, beyond their years and certainly beyond teams who are older then them. They just fill up the ring like no one else which Hanretty explained very well in his commentary. Back to the girls and I'll come back to gash some more. I've missed this, them and talking/reading ad nauseum about their performances.

This is going into "not allowed outside the competition thread" territory so let's not go into it but I am concerned as well. This is clearly a Gadbois-specific problem this year so I am not sure what they should do. Let's hope they really press the panel for answers as to what they have to improve. I am hoping to see a level 4 step sequence from them tomorrow.

I was laughing so hard during the slow mo, they hardly showed their feet and focused solely on Gabby’s lovely expressions. Gosh, was she selling this program. Well done you two!!! I think that everyone who claimed that P/C could never ever do a Tango and only excel in one style has now been officially disproven.
One thought about the music: At first, I thought that it was a pretty standart piece, which I still stand by, but the way this two pieces were put together was just really really good.
You never get bored. There is always a new mood coming along your way. I starts out soft and mysterious, then there is a sense of longing and at the end, you're almost terrified.
So what can we expect tomorrow? Never seen a glimpse of their FD (where they always excel at!)!
