Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Really? because of the music cuts or something else?

I remember thinking the music choice was uninspired, the mid-program transition clunky, and most of all that the program was overly busy with transitions. It was also hard to let go of Oddudua :p (aka the one free dance that I think they haven't skated to its full potential although worlds came pretty darn close). The emotional impact of MS is not blindingly obvious to the spectator imo although I wouln't be surprised if it was by far their most emotionally draining free dance. Gaby is sooo high-strung throughout the program, like this moment but sustained for over 4 minutes...

Funny about the Spanish who have always been taken by their performances on the opposite you have PJ Kwong who wasn't and now that FD has finally gotten to her. I put this review of Internationaux here where they do say nice stuff but I warn you some of her interpretation can be a bit :scratch2:
So it is definitely a matter of taste and this music can sound a bit bland. For me the strange thing is that many seems to love the first part like Tanith in her commentaries and are uncertain about the second. She even wished they would skate to the first music only. Me, I find it a bit of a snoozefest and welcome the second part which is the moment when they actually skate with different movements and let go for like an improvisation session during the choreo step sequence. The diagonal still needs quite a bit of work, it feels a bit empty at the moment and the choreo step sequence can be much sharper and I would even dare say agressive. The first part is lovely but mainly due to the wonderful elements and the way it meshes with the music seamlessly.
All in all I love it much more than I expected and I can wait to see it by Europeans.

This podcast is awesome! I love it. Two sisters are commenting and they are very knowledgeable.
Very interesting comments concerning P/C and the reason of their L1 on TR1 in the RD. They speak among others about their edges, OFSt and their gorgeous ChSt in the FD. :yay:
Very worthwhile listening concerning the others ice dances couple as well. Unlike PJ Kwong who thinks that G/P should be second but without giving an explanation, they do explain why they are in 3rd position. There are others reviews of previous competitions on the page.
Enjoy listening :)

GP France 2018 - Ice dance

Does somebody know how to desactivate the autocorrect function? Thanks for your help. It drives me crazy.

They are Canadian.
I love them. There is still sanity in the world!

Same here, Gotlev! I've listened to a couple of their podcast episodes since yesterday and I just want to say: THIS IS HOW A FIGURE SKATING PODCAST SHOULD BE CONDUCTED. These ladies have it all, knowledge, objectivity, and empathy. Huge thanks to BlueOrange for the recommendation

They are totally refreshing! I am really happy that we have a serious/ non-biased analysis of Ice dance to look forward to!

Thank you Siberia82 for the link. It's a pity there was not a broadcast of the RD ... These are quite difficult to come by!:(

Unfortunately, CBC rarely airs any short programs/rhythm dances. :disapp: However, I may be able to obtain and upload a No Commentary 720p version of their RD (but not tonight, I'm quite tired now). If I'm able to do so, would that be okay?

It's great to know these are safe on dailymotion with skating youtube channels so prone to deletion lately! Thank you <3

Perhaps those in the forum with more knowledge and expertise can help us in viewing and assessing these side-by-side performances (which include P/C):

Well, firstly the bpm range for the set pattern is between 110-114. All of these tangoes use a different pieces of music; and some of them use a different tango rhythm. Playing the music from one across the other three and then telling people to compare is BS. If you want to compare, you should use the performances with music at the bpm actually used and also the same rhythm too.

That said, G/P are pretty much faultless.
