General director of Czech skating union Stanislav Žídek passed away

Eliška Březinová posted on her Instagram:
"Bittersweet victory.
A season goal achieved, but it feels different than I imagined. I'm proud - truly - but it hurts that someone who always stood behind us isn't here to celebrate it. I'm skating forward with gratitude for his legacy, and I hope somewhere he can see how much his work meant to us."

I feel sorry for Czech skaters competing on Sunday while reading the news. It had to be difficult for them.

Mr. Žídek was big person for Czech figure skating. Many skaters, today's coaches and many other people skating in past have many memories with him.

He was always great organizer. He was the main person to bring many JGP competitions, Grand Prix Final, European Championships to Ostrava (where he trained for year). He was always the main person in organizing committee there securing high level of care for both skaters and officials.

He loved figure skating and tried to help Czech skating development.

I feel that for some time Czech figure skating will be lost without his presence.
Hopefully they will find another person who will care and develop Czech skating and continue in Mr. Žídek's steps.

Rest in peace, Mr. Žídek.
