OK, sure we all feel that way at least part of the time. But I truly began to appreciate his computer smarts in the past week or so when I started to watch streaming videos and Chinese sports tv on my computer. When he came home from Iraq this past summer, he was bored. So he made me a deal. If I sprang for DSL, he's make me a new computer that could handle all kinds of fun things. It kept him busy a few weeks buying parts and putting it together. Then it kept him amused while he was waiting for OSU to start fall quarter.

Mom, being a non-IM addict, didn't appreciate the set-up until Skate Canada and finding the links for streaming video of the programs on CCTV. (Don't forget, I went to Skate America, so I wasn't here to watch the feed then.)

Now I realize HE ROCKS!

Hey, I'm working on no sleep 'cuz I was watching Chinese tv and they only put pieces on at a time, especially since the Asian Games are also this weekend.

42, the key is having one of those young techies be bored and flush with money. He wanted to msg and chat and stuff he couldn't do on my five yr-old computer. And boy did he make a mess tearing up two old computers and putting things together into a new configuration with a newer faster motherboard and dvd drive and stuff. He could have chosen to deal with bored and flush by going to Europe and connecting with friends (don't forget he's army and college and has high school friends who seem scattered about the globe and has online friends he's never met yet.)

Rayvyn, would guilt help???? Poor Mom -- she's a Luddite and totally clueless and her vcr will flash 12:00 into eternity unless I help her!

Of course after I declared I would worship the ground he walks on, my streaming video feed disappeared and then my computer crashed and once I got it back up, it refused to acknowledge that it even HAD a modem, much less a dsl account. Now thanks to my own stumbling attempts (I'm better with software than hardware) and a very helpful customer service person at the dsl provider, I've got CCTV and stuff back as good as new. I think my crazy cat may have helped the disaster develop as she was insanely jealous that I was spending hours sitting in front of the screen and talking back in the middle of the night. The isolation of key cables and attachments may prevent a repeat performance. Here's to secure cables and attachments so I don't have to dive in blind to fix what I didn't put together.
