If you really want to progress with figures, keep your current broken-down skates as "patch skates" and ask for a 1" hollow. If you have access to an old school, old-timer skate tech you could even ask to have the drag pick shaved off, but I wouldn't trust just anyone to do that. The 1" hollow will take a few hours to get used to, but you will be amazed by how much more glide and precision it gives you.
