GP final predictions

honestly, i am seeing the 2nd and 3rd spot of dance podium to be extremely unpredictable.
advantage for them, disadvantage for them...this and that....

but its annoying almost to see and feel the russian being pushed up...as said by most of the people in this forum...putting them 1st in their predictions...

I agree. B/c unlike Russian forums, this forum is very objective and impartial.

Men

1. Takahashi
2. Weir
3. Chan/Lysacek

If Takahashi lands one or two quads, I would suppose that he would win. But If Weir als lands a quad, it would be really interesting. Jonny has so much better spins than Takahashi. Although Takahashi may be better at steps than anyone else, he couldn't get any level 4 on his steps at NHK. Besides, Weir seems to have stronger nerves than Takahashi. Chan is such a very beautiful, classy skater. It would be great if he gets on the podium. I am sorry that Tomas is not going.

Ladies
1 & 2 (?) kim or mao
3 & 4 carolina, nakano, zhang

Don't know how much Mao regains the consistency in her jumps and how she deals with her nerves. I feel that she will have 3A. But I wonder if she'll have a 3T. Yuna seems to have stronger nerves. But she still made some mistakes in the last two events. So I guess that it will depend on the day.

Kimmie seems to be having difficulties with jumps. Besides, it looked like her LP needed more time to work on.

If both are clean, Carolina seems to be a much better skater than Nakano. But Nakano is more consistent. Caroline is still a bit unpredictable yet. But she seems to have stronger nerves than Nakano or Carolina. Esp, in GP, she is a challenger and doesn't have anything to lose, just like it was the case for Mao and Yuna before.

Many people who don't much like DomShabs and detest their FD are putting them in first place in predictions because of their stratospheric scores at Cup of Russia. DomShabs had a total score of 205.24, more than seven points higher than the next highest score.

Remember, predictions aren't necessarily how posters want the competition to turn out, they are how they think they realistically will turn out.

If the GPF Ice Dance panel turns out to have multiple Russian and/or Russian friendly judges (CoR had 4), then you can expect scores as high or higher than 63.2 in the OD and 101.99 in the FD. Fair? No, but that's ice dance judging for you.

Between Mao/Yuna, I have a feeling whoever skates earlier in the LP will win. Wait, isn't that always the case when these two go against each other?

Worlds last year was the one exception. Mao skated second-to-last and had the far superior skate technically.
