GP Predictions Game Year 2 :)

So the scores for the ladies event at CoC are up - and I guess I'm not suprising anyone when I say this was the lowest scoring event so far, huh?

Congrats to coolboogie22 who had the highest score with 50 points! The average was around 30 points this time, so not even half of the full 75. Special mentions to Mentalopes, Ilek and zamboni step being the only ones getting points for Anna P. by having her predicted to be 3rd

Better luck to all of us at NHK ;) (haha!)

 I had Anna in 9th place. Had no idea who she was. Should of course have watched her bios. On the other hand Zijun has pretty good bios but finished last. I predicted second :ohwell: I like when the competitions are unpredictable, though with better performnaces. Congrats to Anna!

Yup, that's correct.
Scored almost half of what I did at SA (210) and SC (205). This time I got only 115 :slink: (the perfect score is 300)
I had Pogorilaya at only 7th

Hello, your men's scorekeeper here.

Needless to say, the men's scores were far from perfect overall, though not as bad as Skate America. Median score was 30.

That said, Macassar88 pulled off the win with an almost perfect score of 70. He missed Amodio's placement by one.

The top five:
Macassar88: 70
koatcue: 60
icellist: 55
nipman: 50 (tied)
snowflake: 50 (tied)

The top five in men overall:
GF2445: 145
nipman: 140
Blades of Passion: 135
snowflake: 135
Macassar88: 130

WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS JOINT 2nd IN THE LADIES!!!!!!!!!

How on earth did I manage that???!!!

Have to say I was really disappointed with Li Zijun. I was convinced she would be a podium contender. But to come last???? She's far, far better than that.

And although she got on the podium, I was also disappointed with Adelina. Those two falls in the FS really messed everything up for her. But at least she did get a medal.

As for Anna, WOW!!!! I knew she was good from seeing her in Juniors last year, but never in my wildest dreams would I have picked her to be top Russian, never mind the winner of the whole competition!

That's the problem with people coming up from Juniors. You know how they compare to the opposition in Juniors, but you have no idea where they will slot in when they do their first senior competition.

So, I tend to put them just below the middle of the field.

Didn't do too well in the Men's (which I haven't seen yet, so don't give anything away!) But, that was the category where I was having the most problems in picking an order. To the extent that the Cup of China Men's was the first time I had changed my choices after posting.

And I was, er, joint 23rd in the Dance (well, with 20 being level at the top with 75, and then 2 with 70, I suppose I could say I was joint 3rd... ;) :D )

WELL DONE NATHALIE AND FABIAN!!!! I am a massive fan, but I was not brave enough to put them on top. Boys, I am kicking myself now!!!

But, overall, I'm delighted!

Wow! I'm happy to be first, my prediction at the past event where bad, I'm glad that I improve :)

Dance has been up but I haven't been able to post until now.

Nice high scores ranging from 55-75. 69.25 is the mean :jaw: Many 65's and many 75's.

It's the second time (the first was Machida) that I predict a skater to place 4th and he/she wins the event... :frown:

Pairs are now up.

Predictions maxed out at 65. 14 people have the honor of having achieved this score, so I'm not going to mention all by name, but great job all of you!

The median was 60. The mean was 57.92.

I will be posting some more statistics for the midpoint in a few minutes, including our leaders in all disciplines and overall :)

Dance

Scores of people who have predicted all 3 events range from 170 to 220. A 'maximum' score at this point would be 225, so everyone is doing very well indeed, especially our leader!

1. sequinsgalore with an incredible 220 points!
2. (tie) GF2445, Li'Kitsu with an equally amazing 215 points.
4. (tie) HR4, jchamp with an also amazing 210 points

Of people who have guessed all 3 events, the mean is 191.125. The median is 195.

Pairs

Unsurprisingly these scores are lower and range from 135 to 185 (meaning, actually, that the 'spread' of scores are about the same and everyone tends to stay within about 50 points of each other).

Our pairs leaders at this time are:

1. (tie!) GF2445, zamboni step 185 points each
3. (also tie!) Blades of Passion, tulosai 180 points each
5. Becki 175 points

The mean is 157.8, the median is 160.

Ladies

Scores here drop off significantly and range from 90 to 175, so there is also a huge spread compared to the pairs and dance.

Current leaders are:

1. elif with 175 points
2. Blades of Passion 160 points
3. (tie!) Macassar88, HR4, rosacotton 155 points

The mean is 131.28. The median is 130.

Men

Big thanks to Mrs. P who did a lot of this legwork already.

The scores here are the lowest of any discipline and range from 65 to 145.

Current leaders:

1. GF2445 145 points
2. nipman 140 points
3. (tie!) Blades of Passion, snowflake 135 points
5. Macassar88 130 points

The mean is 103.41 and the median here is 100.

Finally, our overall leaders!

A maximum score right now would be 900 points. Actual scores range from 495 to 710. The mean is 590, and the median is 585.

Rounding out our top 10 are:

1. Blades of Passion 710 points. BoP has yet to relinquish his early lead :)
2. GF2445 700 points.
3. zamboni step 655 points
4. rosacotton 635 points
5. (tie) elif, jchamp, Li'Kitsu, Macassar88 630 points
9. (tie) sequinsgalore, HR4 625 points

Also a quick shout-out to those who did the best overall at CoC!

1. Macassar88 with 240 points :)
2. GF2445 with 225 points
3. (tie) koatcue, elif, Blades of Passion 220 points
