Gregory and Petukhov Withdraw U.S. Nationals

 I'm gonna miss seeing them skate... they're always a highlight of my nationals trip

:( I am sorry to hear that they are not all better. Now that 3rd spot will be a huge question mark!

third spot has always been a question mark.. it's just now easier to think that the second place will go to D/W

What a shame that they a) had to withdraw and b) are still not fully recuperated from earlier injury!
Be well soon Melissa and Denis!

:disapp: I was looking forward to their return to competition. I hope they get better and stronger for next year.

They won't be on the Seasons Best list because they didn't complete a single competition this season. I hope they can remain in the top 24 on the ISU World Ranking list so they can get GP invitations next season.

The third spot'll probably go to Samuelson and Bates. Who are probably then really going to want to stay there next year, and will have all the advantages in doing so. This is really bad.

Wishing Melissa and Denis a full recovery, but I'm so :frown: I won't be able to see my favorite ice dance team competing at Nationals.

Very sad news indeed. What a disappointment for them, but wise to heal fully instead of risking further injury. Will look forward to their return.

Navarro and Bommentre(sp.) pack your bags for worlds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is absolutely no need for a post like this in a thread about another team's misfortune. :sheesh:

Anyway, I'm so disappointed that I won't get to see Melissa and Denis at Nationals this year. They are such wonderful people and I'm sure this was a very hard decision for them. I wish them all the best (as well as a complete recovery) and hopefully they come back next year even stronger. Get well soon guys.

This news is such a bummer. I  this team, and was hoping they would recover sufficiently in time for nationals. May they be back 100% for next season.

I was also looking forward to seeing M/D compete at Nationals. I really like their skating and they give 100% when they compete. Wishing complete recovery for both of them.

Dare I stick my neck out here and say they could get a BYE, but is it likely given that they haven't competed all season long?

Just posing the question.

It's so sad that I wont be able to see their OD or FD at all this season. I was looking forward to it.

I think Todd got a bye to the Olys as did Michelle. Maybe if they were specially tested behind closed doors to see if they are capable of being competitive.

Joe

I am not sure but I read on another board that since M/D did not skate in the GP series or Nationals and do not plan on going to 4C they would not be eligible for a bye to Worlds. I think that Michelle and Todd skated in at least one of the events mentioned so they were eligible for a bye. The do mention in their article that they will be out for the rest of the season so a bye to Worlds is probably moot.
