They won't be on the Seasons Best list because they didn't complete a single competition this season. I hope they can remain in the top 24 on the ISU World Ranking list so they can get GP invitations next season.

The third spot'll probably go to Samuelson and Bates. Who are probably then really going to want to stay there next year, and will have all the advantages in doing so. This is really bad.

Though I love Kim and Brent, I wouldn't be so quick to hand them a ticket to Sweden. I think they'll face some very stiff competition from Samuelson/Bates.

There is absolutely no need for a post like this in a thread about another team's misfortune. :sheesh:

Anyway, I'm so disappointed that I won't get to see Melissa and Denis at Nationals this year. They are such wonderful people and I'm sure this was a very hard decision for them. I wish them all the best (as well as a complete recovery) and hopefully they come back next year even stronger. Get well soon guys.

This news is such a bummer. I this team, and was hoping they would recover sufficiently in time for nationals. May they be back 100% for next season.

I was also looking forward to seeing M/D compete at Nationals. I really like their skating and they give 100% when they compete. Wishing complete recovery for both of them.

I think Todd got a bye to the Olys as did Michelle. Maybe if they were specially tested behind closed doors to see if they are capable of being competitive.

I am not sure but I read on another board that since M/D did not skate in the GP series or Nationals and do not plan on going to 4C they would not be eligible for a bye to Worlds. I think that Michelle and Todd skated in at least one of the events mentioned so they were eligible for a bye. The do mention in their article that they will be out for the rest of the season so a bye to Worlds is probably moot.
