GS Meetup at Worlds 2016!

Probably won't be able to make it Friday as I may have other plans. Thursday would be a better day for me. However, if more people are available Friday, I'm cool with that too. :agree:

So are people cool with brunch on Friday, before Pairs? Or any preference toward doing it before Ladies on Thursday? Cause once I firm up a day, I can start hunting for brunch spots!

I'm arriving Friday morning and I would love to grab brunch with you guys! Thanks so much for planning it! :)

Would love to get brunch or dinner! I lived in boston for 6 years so PM me if you need any recommendations or want to meet up :)

I just found out that the friend I go to skating events with has canceled. I'm bummed but still very much looking forward to it. I'm staying at the Westin and arrive Tues and leave on Monday (may skip Exhibition and fly home Sunday).

So I am free for dinners and drinks and meet ups on breaks. Mrs. P, plan on me for Fri. brunch. (Is Mr. P coming this time?)

Sweet! I am coming alone too and will be at the Westin Tues am until Monday. Not skipping out early since room already paid for so even if there are not necessarily any GS get gatherings, but u want someone to grab a meal with or head back and forth to events I would be open for that too.

I'm at the Westin too, waxel! It will be great to see you. Mr. P is taking care of Baby P so I can take this mom-break. :D

I will be by myself Wed and Thurs and also would like to grab snacks/dinners with anyone who wants to hang out in between events/breaks, in addition to GS gatherings. For Wed would anyone be interested in wandering to the North End side of town - walking distance (according to google maps) from TD Garden - after the short dance to grab a slice of pizza and some canolies (I so wish I could sneak some into the arena :dev2:). I'm not sure if we would have time since there's about an hour and a half window until the opening ceremony and it's possible that there will be a line at the gate. If "straying" too far away from the arena is not a good idea then I'll be open for meeting some place closer by. This will be my first time meeting with any GS members yay :luv17:, being in Boston and going to a skating competition. I intend to make the best of it

Hmm...it would be cool to see the opening ceremony, but then looks like in that case we'd have to stay for the entire men's short (5 hours)?? (due to the tickets being combined and no re-entry, yada yada)

In that case I may just skip the OC and come in late for the final 2 or 3 groups :scratch2:

I was thinking about pizza for post-SD too! There's a really good pizza place recommended in the Boston as a Tourist thread. One thing we can do is to order the pizza ahed and then it will be ready by the time we get there.

There's also a decent Irish Pub right across the street where we had our GS meetup during Nationals.

Also for those staying in Back Bay, I suggest a night cap at the Westin hotel bar: http://www.westincopleyplaceboston.com/bar-10-boston or nearby pub: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...0-Reviews-Solas_Pub-Boston_Massachusetts.html

I'll be at the Westin, but primarily just a place to sleep since I'll have very long days volunteering. Best chance to catch a glimpse of me though is in the lounge around midnight. I'll be the one with the glass of red wine ;) Hopefully I'll get a chance to say hello to some of you!

Awesome. I was feeling pretty ditched after my friend bailed- but looks like there'll be enough of us to make a party.

Mrs. P I have a good friend who stays regularly at the Westin- he says Bar 10 is great for a night cap.

One month away!

Cool thread! Is anyone planning to be there on Saturday? Maybe morning or afternoon? I am going only to Ladies Free, since Boston will be on my way home anyway, but I don't plan to stay in the hotel.
P.S. I guess most of the audience there will be GS users anyway, since Figure Skating world does not seem huge. I simply would love to discuss the sport/event with someone who is also following it. None of my friends or family are... :shame:

Awesome, night caps at Bar 10 it is! I'm looking forward to catching up with many of you and meeting new people. #ExtroverttotheMax

Is there anyway we can do a poll (maybe a separate thread if needed) to see what section(s) have the most GSers? I'm curious what a GSer heat map of the arena would look like! Hmm could be super complicated though since a lot of folks may have different seats for different events. :slink:

You can definitely start a "Where are you sitting thread!" :)

I have to start a list of people who are comming. I will put the people I have actually met at the top and then the forum names of those I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, leaving space for writing in there real first names in a vane attempt to remember folk....and maybe a memory hook....hummmm...this person speaks like they are from down under....
