Help, my tape got caught

I don't think there is dvd on my computer.

It might depend on when you got the unit. There is one sure way to find out, well 2. If the software disk you have says DVD on it or put one in and try it. Yet this is a whole different entertainment factor. Instead of "curling up on the couch" and getting the correct resolution for a TV rather then the computer monitor.

Grgranny, I have 28 saved programmes and a couple of other "clips."
Taylor Firth SP
Kimmie SP
Emily SP
Megan H SP
Katy SP
Tanith n Ben OD
Christine Z SP
Bebe SP
Julianna SP
Megan Oster SP
Danelle K SP
- vote for favorite costume and least favorite 2nd 1/2 music.;)
Rachael F SP - with 2 comparison videos on the 3x3
Kylie Gleason SP
Alissa SP
Becky H SP
The completed Quad during practice of Vise n Trent
Vise / Trent LP
Castile / Okloski LP
Rena n John LP
NNN n Thad LP
Wester / Barantsev FD
Maria's LP
Caroline's LP

Most of the interview with Caroline and Miria - to cute to even try to explain:biggrin:
Matthews n Zavozin ("MegaMax";) ) FD
Navarro / Bommentre FD
- this "Beatles Medley" is actually straight off The Beatles Abbey Road. Very cool IMO that the piece is practically perfect as is. Now I want to see someone use the medley from Paul's Give My Regards to Broadsteet, the Wanderlust Medley
Davis n White FD
Tanith N Ben FD
Emily LP
Bebe LP

That is what I have, Hoping to get Kimmie (only have last minute of LP), Alissa, Taylor, Katy, Megan O, Megan H, Juliana, Dani K, Rachael, Kylie, Christine and Becky's LPs on Sunday - but I am sure I will not see them all.

Let me know if you need any of these Grgranny - or want them from me. I clip them tight, so there is not much but start and some applause for the programmes.

Also Dee, I have a feeling they will air Fly'n Ryan's LP so I may just get that there. They better, it was frick'n awesome!:agree:

I thought you said you missed some of the ladies LP too.?? I must have misunderstood - or should I say, actually I must have misunderstood ;)

btw, like the new Evan sig.

There ya go Grganny, Toni to the rescue. Now can Toni get it onto a VHS for you???? What a gal!!!!

no I'm pretty sure it was SP... though now I'm wondering if it was the LP that it pooped out... *sigh* I wish I could remember lol

I can get it on tape, not a problem... ;) GrGranny just PM me if you're interested! :agree:

Thanks!

It is still Digital Full Quality. Haven't put it on any Media yet - well I guess a Hard drive is technically a "form" of media. That depends on what and where it will get played. If I remove it from my computer I will still keep it as a full data file.

I thought this only because when I forgot about the LP being aired in the afternoon, the thing that reminded me was reading the post of yours saying your DVD pooped out on you. It could have been in reference to either, I just was thinking - yah I know better. But you all know how I forget sometimes;)

So Sean, do you have one of those DVD/hard drive combo recorders?

As a peripheral unit? My DVD burner is. Not sure what you are asking but I think you mean something like a "Tivo with a burner built in." That is basically a DVD recorder with archival abilities?

Here's a question for all you DVD / computer wizards I also have a DVD burner on my computer and don't know how to use it either. Tried to burn CD's and it didn't work. As you guessed I am computer dummie.
How can I reuse my DVD disc I had to use 4 to record Nationals because I don't know how to restart where it left off or if I can. Yes I've read the manuel but it might as well be written in greek.

What's the model # and brand of your DVD unit?

To utilize the DVD writer on your computer you need GOOD software (not the crap Windows has). I'd recommend Roxio's Media Creator Suite (or something like that).

And DVD writers also write CDs (except maybe the earliest models...?)

hey, on that topic have you got the opening fluff of the ladies short program?

If it was aired before Kimmie's SP, then yes. I don't record in segments since I use a DVD recorder to record off of TiVo. My laptop doesn't have a dVD burner. PM me if you want me to copy the DVD for you. Just send me your mailing address.

Jhar, did you record off of your computer or a stand alone dvd recorder?

Dee

I do have the ladies short. I'm hoping that my grandson in law has the long but don't know yet. They were all on ABC. So, I need to check my tapes and see if I have some of the others on it. It's the ones on ESPN since last Thurs or Fri that I didn't get.

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES10.
I recorded eveything on TV.
All the burnner programs was suppose to be already installed when I bought my new computer only thing they didn't send a manuel, :)

That is a good drive IMO. Matsushita are some of the best, particularly when it comes to reading a slightly dirty disk. I am at a loss without muddling through you system. Is it playing anything on your comp? Did you look in your control panel to see if it - the one in your comp - is recognized?

See if you have Toast or Roxio.

Hey, thanks for the offer. I'm talking about (I think I've said this 50 times lol) the OPENING fluff for the entire broadcast- the first 5 minutes of the broadcast before Taylor Firth's SP. I actually have everything else and only want (missed) that part.

ETA: I used the stop/start function to create titles for each short program and freeskate on my DVD disc, skipping the commercials :) the downside to this is that a few seconds here and there were cut off (nothing important, though).

Sean- that's a standalone DVD recorder, not a DVD drive ;)

It has a Matsushita drive in it though;) eta, but thank you for pointing that out it is a DVD recorder rather than a burner.

Jhar55, You are going to have to have some form of video out from your comp to your DMR-ES10 to get anything on it. Record in "real time." And are you capturing video on your computer?

But wait ... what does this mean?
All the burnner programs was suppose to be already installed when I bought my new computer only thing they didn't send a manuel, :)
And this?

From iTunes, data files, what did you try to put on your CD?

How can I reuse my DVD disc I had to use 4 to record Nationals because I don't know how to restart where it left off or if I can. Yes I've read the manuel but it might as well be written in greek.
"How can I reuse" - to this I would ask if you have the right kind of disk, if yes, it is something I wouldn't do so do not know. I will let Dee, RD or Toni answer that. I would just buy new disks. Recording over anything you want to have good quality with is not recommended IMO. Even a "re-DVD." Buy the 50 pack of -R (JVC I have had the best consistency and compatibility with different drives, Maxell were OK) and they are very affordable.

So what are we being asked Jhar55? How to record over a reDVD or how to make your burner in your comp work?
