Esp when just making the podium is the best you can do. She won't continue to skate- you could hear in her "can my body take it?" comments. After Nationals, she was "definitely leaning toward Turino." She won't embarass herself, she's had a long ride.

"Just making the podium" is a pretty good result. One should never be embarrassed if they have done their best even if they finish last. Michelle has been so great for so long that even if she never did another jump her fans would love and be proud of her. Anything that she offers us now is gravy.

Its not like she skated poorly and thats why she earned a bronze... this was obviously a bizzare worlds for michelle with the timing controversy (I dont want to start this up again, i'm just saying). And bronze is still pretty amazing. I dont think any other american skater from the past ore present would get people saying they think she is washed up if they finished 3rd.
