I felt it was a duty to update this thread after the spectacular scores we've witnessed in the recent months, so here we are:

SP
1) Yu-Na Kim 80.60 2014 South-Korean figure skating championships
2) Evgenia Medvedeva 79.44 2016 Russian Nationals
3) Mao Asada 78.66 2014 World Figure Skating Championships
4) Yu-Na Kim 78.50 2010 Olympics
5) Elizaveta Tuktamysheva 77.62 2015 World Figure Skating Championships
6) Carolina Kostner 77.24 2014 World Figure Skating Championships
7) Elena Radionova 76.69 2016 Russian Nationals
8) Yu-Na Kim 76.28 2009 Skate America
9) Yu-Na Kim 76.12 2009 Worlds
10) Yu-Na Kim 76.08 2009 TEB
(please note that pre-2010 scores were obtained with 8 elements, since 2010 the SP elements are 7 but Ladies can perform a solo 3A, plus the BV of some jumps have been reduced and GOEs are worth less points)

FS
1) Evgenia Medvedeva 155.44 2016 Russian Nationals
2) Yu-Na Kim 150.06 2010 Olympics
3) Adelina Sotnikova 149.95 2014 Olympics
4) Ashley Wagner 148.98 2015 U.S. Nationals
5) Yu-Na Kim 148.34 2013 World Figure Skating Championships
6) Evgenia Medvedeva 147.96 2015-2016 Grand Prix Final
7) Yu-Na Kim 147.26 2014 South-Korean Figure Skating Championships
8) Elena Radionova 145.88 2016 Russian Nationals
9) Yu-Na Kim 145.80 2013 South-Korean Figure Skating Championships
10) Akiko Suzuki 144.99 2014 Japan Figure Skating Championships

This thread is completely pointless... and having viewed fan cams of both her GPF and Nationals performances, Medvedeva was better at the GPF mostly because the ice conditions were much better at the GPF.

I think all "Nationals" scores should be taken out since they are inflated (regardless of country).

The post is great for what it is: a list of highest scores "ever recorded." It is fun trivia as well as useful reference. And I would presume the author compiled the list assuming that us golden skate forum members would know that scores across different competitions, different years and national/ISU/other events etc may not be comparable. I find these stats fascinating. Thanks FSGMT.

This list is any score in any competition. There are different criteria, such as international scores only, which would exclude nationals. But this isn't such a list. :)

Thanks FSGMT! Also worth noting in the SP of the second half 10 percent bonus. I think it was applied in the 2012-2013 season.

So it's clear that the nationals with the greatest inflation is Russian Nationals. Although we can't leave out that absolute joke of a score for Ashley at US Nationals. Still makes me laugh. Lol

In the spirit of numerical excess, Davis and White's FD from US Nationals 2014:

http://www.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2014/2014_us_fs_champs/SEGM008.html
Every level was 4 (except the choreo lift, which can't be higher than 1)
Every GOE that counted was +3
Every PCS component score that counted was 10.00
Perfect score.

119.50

Their SD score was nearly perfect, too.
http://www.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2014/2014_us_fs_champs/SEGM007.html

80.69

Perfect would have been 81.00

0.07 lost on second Finnstep segment (TES of 40.93)

0.14 lost on skating skills
0.18 lost on transitions
which when the factors are applied is a loss of 0.24 on PCS components (PCS of 39.76)

0.31 off perfect

:jaw:

That is a whooooole new level of Nationflation.

If any of the top US ladies skates clean at Inflationals, I would expect unimaginably high scores. Like, 77-point SPs and 149-point FSes...

Ashley Wagner got 148 last year at US nationals...

ISU list of progression of highest scores in Ice dance since the last really significant rule change in 2010. Note Davis and White's Olympic FD was not that far off their Nationals perfect score.

 There is a reason why when a Russian team had a major error at a competition, and Grishin said that they can't all be Davis and White, and Tarasova said, " NO!!! They should!!"

That's really interesting. I would not have expected Davis and White to hold quite so many of the top scores. I knew they held plenty of them but not that many and it is even more surprising to see Virtue/Moir only there twice. Huh.

It's a progression of the scores, starting in 2010-2011 season. This is when Tessa & Scott were not competing, because of her injury. So Meryl & Charlie were able to accumulate a lot of top scores initially, I guess. And when Tessa & Scott did beat Meryl & Charlie, their scores weren't new records (such as their 182.65 at 2012 worlds, which they won). In 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, Meryl & Charlie were consistently beating Tessa & Scott.

As Scout noted, what Doris posted is not a list of the highest scores ever recorded.

Only scores that were record-breaking at the time are included in "progression of highest scores."

Ah, that makes more sense. I did not understand that. Stupid cold medicine. Thanks for correcting me! I knew what I was thinking did not make sense.

I was always incredibly confused, but now I get it! Nebelhorn Trophy 2003 was the first event under IJS, so it would make sense that the first total score ( and SP and FS) in that competition would be a "record" and that every competitior that scored above that pair/skater would be a progression of a "record."

Also makes sense with JGP scores could be records since they are earlier in the season, but quickly broken by a senior score later in the season.
