My hubby and I went with friends to see this flick tonight. It is very sad and depressing. The acting was fine, especially Jennifer Connely. I am guessing that reading the book before seeing this movie would be beneficial. Anyway, I can't recommend it. 42

I was a little disappointed in the film itself, because the book was so marvelous. I guess, I waited too long for this epic and the fizz just was not there. Good performance from Jude Law, however.

Lad, thanks for the response........I definitely will be seeing "Cold Mountain", if not now, then when it's released to DVD for sure.
"House" has amazing individual performances, but it's such a downer, I just can't recommend it. The folks who saw it with us were able to look past the subject matter and key in on the overall........they loved it! 42
