How are you spending your Easter?

I'm surprised this hasn't already been done!
I am in Larned, Kansas where my Angel daughter lives. Will go home Sun. after church. My great grandson (22 months) and so are having a great time. They won't let me drive so my granddaughter came and got me and my Angel daughter and Angel son in law will take me home after church. Having a really good time. Planning on doing the same Memorial Day for my Daughter and great grandson' s birthdays.

Christmas is the only Holiday we make special around here.
For Easter Sunday, my husband will go have dinner with his Mom in her Seniors complex. I let him go on his own so he can have some one-on-one time with her and I can have some time to myself.

Well, I don't do Easter, but I will talk about how I spent my Passover.

On the first Seder, we went out to spend it with friends. I printed out a beautiful Aggada (with lots of pictures) which we read in its entirety (it was, though, a much shortened version)!

For the second Seder, we had the family over - both mine and my husbands, about twenty people total. It was hard to have company after work, as the Seder table has a lot of food, and things that have to be prepared just so, but it was well worth it!

We're having Easter dinner over here.. I'm the only family member in my 'aunts house' that goes to church so after church I'll come home and get the house ready for my 'niece' to go on her first easter egg hunt... should be fun I will most likely be taking tons of pictures...

so wish we could hunt for eggs outside like the rest of the world seems to be able to *pouts* such is life in AK

Nothing special here was going to Nashville to visit my family but changed my mind. Might take in a movie tomorrow afternoon.
I'll go there for memorial day weekend have a 4 day weekend and hope my niece has her pool open.

We're Jewish, so we're observing Passover this week. We had our seders the first two nights (first one at home, the second at our synagogue). I attended synagogue services on the first two days of the holiday. The holiday continues until Tuesday night at sundown, so we'll still be eating Passover food through all that time. The day after Passover we usually go out for pizza (which we can't eat during the holiday).

I don't usually have a special Easter meal, but my Sunday school class is having a pot luck brunch. We're basically just going to each and fellowship. Of course, there is also the regular church service.

Well, my MIL just canned by hubby's meal with her...she's too achey to get out of bed! She told me if I didn't have a meal planned and we go out, she'll pay for it for us! Hmmmm....some egg plant parm from our favorite take out might be in order!

Yup. During Passover, we can't have anything that could potentially have yeast in it - bread or beer. We can cook with matzomeal - essentially mazzo (unleavened bread) broken into tiny flour-like pieces. You'd be amazed what a good cook can do with those!

Ashkenazi (European) Jews also stay away from other grains during Pesach, while Sephardim (originally Spanish, but now more like any non-European and non-Israeli Jews) do eat rice. In my house, it's usually the matzoballs for side dish during Passover.

MM, that's not yeast-free by Passover standards. It is believed that yeast comes into existence a few minutes after you mix water with flour. That's why matzo is baked under very controlled conditions - it must go into oven almost immediately upon being mixed. So the "yeast-free: recipe you site is not in fact truly yeast free.

Well, gee, our plans have changed again...my nephew and his wife, who are slowly moving into our rental property next door, invited us over there for ham. So we'll be heading over there in an hour or so.

We didn't have any special plans (it's just mom & I this year), and we were kind of bummed, but my cousin came down w/ her 2 year old son and surprised us Friday night! So we spent Friday night w/ them, and had breakfast w/ them & my aunt yesterday morning.

Then mom & I went and had a retail therapy session , and today we just kinda lounged around, and had ham, homemade scallopped potatoes, sweet potatoes, and creamed peas & carrots for lunch! Now I'm stuffed and I want to take a nap. LOL

This was one of the coldest Easters I remember. Even skiffs of snow. More up north and west than at home. What a bummer!! Anyway, we did hide stuff for my great grandson (22 months) but not candy. He did get candy at his other grandparents and don't know if he will get much of it. It was so cold we could hardly stand it. Sure hope it starts warming up soon. I got home around 4 pm. Now, I'm here all by my lonesome again. One thing I always appreciate, I can do what I want when I want - if I feel like it.

Our family doesn't celebrate Easter or Passover since we're not religious.

My 4 sets of Aunts & Uncles got back from a tour of Italy on Thursday. I ended up seeing Friday, Saturday & Sunday. It was nice to spend time with them - especially the ones that live in California.

On Saturday, the whole family was together for my baby niece's Reg Egg and Ginger banquet (Chinese custom). My aunt from California almost had my older 5yr old niece cry - she was teasing that she was going to take the baby home with her. My Mom also tried to set my cousin up with her friend's son, which had my cousin insisting that I change seats to sit next to her. My cousin had to admit that I have worse horror stories then she does.

I did make Easter goody bags for my nieces, nephew and cousins' kids.

Spent my Easter BBQing for my mom and my hubby's aunt. Younger son put in an appearance as well, but older son was at his girl friend's parent's home for lunch...........42
