How do you see the future for the quad?

i think quads make the men´s competition very spectacular. The inreasing of the BV 5 years ago has pushed the willingsness to take the risk and i love to see someone taking the risk.

But the consequece is that there are many falls at all jumps and almost no really clean skate. In additon there can be a huge difference in TES and the whole content of the program turns into the beackround. I am not sure i go with it.

Admit, was majorly grumpy about Jason Brown not planning quads, because omg its sport, not pretty dance, but his amazing performance on worlds made me reconsider.

I think Jason's case has made it clear that a conservative investment with low risk can triumph over risky ventures. I think a hard limit on quads is too heavy-handed. Rather, skaters also need to know how to evaluate the risk and decide if the returns on the investment is worth taking. Sometimes it is, as in the case of Yuzu and Javier, who have a much higher expected returns with relatively small risk, because they diversify their basket of investments- not just the quads, but also level 4 elements, good skating skills, etc. But for some other skaters, their risk is sadly much too high.

Nonetheless, I do agree some regulation is needed, such as in the form of fall deductions or BV. Exactly how much fall deduction or BV is still open for debate, which is what this thread is for. :)
