I finally jumped in with both feet to prepare my income tax return. Thank goodness we have until the end of April here in Canada to prepare. I have to have my husband's information before I can finish and submit mine. He always waits until the last minute - drives me crazy.

Anyone else have theirs done?

Not yet. I just got my last peice of tax information late last week. I usually do my own, so I'll likely get to it this week. I always hate tax time. While I enjoy my social services, it's depressing to see how much of my pay cheque goes to the government.

I didn't back up some old stock information, and, of course, this year the companies were acquired and bought back the stock. So, I've been entering about 6 yrs of data on those stocks to figure out if I have a gain/loss.

At least, I've learned my lesson and take backups reguarly.

BTW, 2 evening worth of work amounted to about $100 loss.

So, after I make copies, I'm sending it off to the accountant. Normally I do my own, but this year we have an investment in Delaware and I'm not sure what I need to do for it. Darn thing made money; so, I'll probably owe money.

Here in BC it's like Robin Hood in reverse - instead of robbing the rich to give to the poor - our government robs the poor and gives to the rich. We are taxed to death. I would have received a pretty good return, but after I put in my husband's net, it will be whittled down to almost nil - just enough to buy Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City) a nice pair of Malnolo shoes she likes to wear!:laugh:

Lad, at least you are getting something back. This is the first year that my husband and I have had to pay:frown:
