This describes a lot of foot deformities skaters develop as well as injuries due to stiff boots and jumping; this is by the USFA who basically can't ignore it anymore I think. It goes through a lot of recommendations. I thought it was really interesting.

Interesting indeed. Yes it does seem like most of us have bunions and other neat deformities. Thankfully they left out good ole stank foot. :

I didn't read the article but, I can tell you from experience that a "Heel Spur" is the worst foot injury I ever had. Only beaten out by the worst dancers injury, IMO of course. A Torn Hip Flexor!!! Horrible Injury!!:dev2:

I have no doubt that the other issues mentioned arise from bad boots, etc.

But not bunions. Having experienced the joys of a bunionectomy last fall, and having quizzed the surgeon repeatedly, bunions are a result of bad genes. Didn't pick my parents right.

That said, having given up running because of the bunion, I cannot imagine the agony of skating in a boot that aggravates it. I cannot imagine
