I cannot find it right away, but Meagan Duhamel in an interview explained how the fed asked the skaters their preferences. I don’t know if it was a year where she and Eric were champs, or “just” on the podium, but it was kind of a “how would you feel about X” question from the fed, and “OK, we’ll see what we can do”.
