So, um, yeah... Alaska has gotten into the full swing of things... we're now into fall. We didn't even have a summer this year! It was incredibly rainy and flipping COLD! We had about a week of summer and then it was just lousy the rest of the time! SO ANNOYING!

so much for global warming, we have global cooling (we're just 30 years behind the rest of the US, eh?)

anyway I just wanted to whine because I am sitting in my room freezing my tooshie off! This time next month we'll be seeing the threat of winter... I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing termination dust (ie SNOW) on the mountains soon!

It's been the same here in good ol' Beautiful British Columbia. We had a really short summer - about two to three weeks of sun and now we are back to our dreary gray and damp weather. In fact, June was like winter at times. I was ready to break out my winter coat one week. Today was nice, but it is supposed to rain on the weekend - what else? It wouldn't be Vancouver if it did not rain. I will be digging out my rain gear soon. I just hope we don't get the amount of snow we got last year. It's great for the mountains and the skiiers, but not down here. People in the lower mainland don't know how to drive in snow conditions. Although a lot of people living here have moved from the prairies and back east - where they are used to snow; it seems as though they forget how to safely get around in the white stuff. Last winter I had a heck of a commute on the bus. It took me four hours to get home one night. I'll take our rain - gladly.

I've never heard the snocapped peaks called, termination dust lol

I've been feeling th effects of the weather changing. My body doesn't seem to like atmospheric changes.

It's supposed to be 98 degrees here today, and I have to go teach in my non-air-conditioned school building. Wanna trade? ;)

Annie - Termination dust describes teh first little dusting of snow the mountain's get... it just looks like someone sprinkled powdered sugar on top of the crusty tops :)

August has been a really nice month here in Mt. and after the horrendous heat that we had during July (average Daily temp. was 94.5 degrees F.) we deserve decent temps. Of course, the heat meant dryness & that =forest fires. Last I heard they were pretty much contained. Temps have been in the 70's & 80's during August. We need rain tho.

Please send some of that cool air my way it was 105 today and for the most of last 3 weeks. No rain in over a month all the grass is dead and some farmers already harvesting their crops.

We have been experiencing mild but sunny weather this week. It is cool and we are heading for rain by end of the week. What I am dreading is FOG. They are already using the dreaded "F" word early in the morning. I hate driving in Fog!!!!!

I live in Manchester in the UK and this summer has been a total wash out. It has felt like autumn all summer long with maybe three break out days of sunshine and heat.

I'm ready for fall....tomorrow is to be 96 degrees with heat index of 105....and we have an evening ball game to go to in Philadelphia. We'll be starting out at 7pm with temp. of 88, heat index of 95 and at 9pm it is going to be around 82 degrees with a heat index of 85!
I have a feeling the EMT's at the ball park are going to be very busy scraping up over-drinking fools and people who just plain can't take the heat....Hope I'm not one of them!

Wow!!! We here in Lotus land (Vancouver BC) are happy to see the sun this week. By the weekend it is all supposed to dissipate and we will be back to our normal gray weather. Sweater weather is just around the corner. Good luck in the heat - enjoy!!!!

NJSk8FAN, be careful at the Phillies game tonight. Drink lots of water!

We're going to Kimmie's show tonight and will stay over in Baltimore. Today's temperature in Baltimore will be in the upper 90's with a higher heat index, according to the Weather Channel.net. Normally we walk around the Inner Harbor area in the daytime. I think we'll do some indoor activities in the hours before the show.

I checked the weather again, the temps and feel-like's have gone up by 2 degrees for every time slot during the times we'll be at the game....I'm really second-guessing if we should even go!

Gail, have fun at Kimmie's show!

After 2 1/2 months of 90-105 degree weather with no air conditioning, sorry, no sympathies here. Bring on fall and winter!

Weather was hot as usual until last Sat. when it rained. Had rain a few times since and hasn't been nearly as hot. Some days only in the upper 80's
:chorus: Sure wouldn't hurt my feelings if there were no more hundred degree days.
