1. Mao
2. Joannie ( This is going to be her year)
3. Yu - Na
4. Ando
5. Kostner
6. Wagner
7. Yukari

Basically agree with your top ten choice but let me switch around a little...

1. Mao (This is going to be her year)
2. Kostner (I think Kostner will more likely be placed ahead of Joannie this year although I won't mind a surprise.)
3. Ando
4. YuNa (unfortunately not this year. She just doesn't have enough time to get back to shape)
5. Yukari (part of the strongest Japanese ladies team ever)
6. Joannie
7. Wagner
8. Meissner
9. Meir
10. Bebe (wishful thinking)

My Predictions for the World's.

Pairs

Gold: Savchenko & Szolkowy (pure class)
Silver: Zhang/Zhang
Bronze: Pang/Tong

4th Dube & Davison (like to get a medal but chinese have higher PCS)
5th Mukhortova/Trankov

Mens

Gold: Daisuke Takahashi (very close between him and Lambiel)
Silver: Stephane Lambiel (best program, but vulnerable)
Bronze: Tomas Verner (again PCS formed program, but inconsistent)

4th Brian Joubert (lacks verve this year)
5th Even Lysacek (still lacking choegraphically)
6th Patrick Chan
7th Johnny Weir (like Johnny to get a medal but FP not suited to him)
8th Stephen Carriere
9th Jeff Buttle (great PCS scores as usual, thats why Jeff should stay in top 10
10th Kevin Van Der Perren (great technician, like Johnny weak FP)

Dance

Gold: Domnina/Shabalin (scores seem to be overrated, but I do like their FD)
Silver: Belbin/Agosto (best FD from them, always good technicians)
Bronze: Delobel/Schoenfelder (from a purist point of view, the best really)

4th Virtue/Moir (huge potential, I hope they peak for Vancouver 2010)
5th Kohklova/Novitski (great flexibility, not a huge fan of FD)

Ladies

Gold: Yu Na Kim (pure class, it she is on a clear winner)
Silver: Joannie Rochette (Joannie's year I think, and I think has the best FP)
Bronze: Mao Asada (again lovely flow, does cheat on the jumps though)

4th Carolina Kostner (consistent year, possibly win the SP, but struggles on FP
5th Yukari Nakano (again nice flow, weak technician)
6th Miki Ando (struggling this year)
7th Kimmie Meissner (struggling this year)
8th Sarah Meier (lovely to watch, would like to see a medal but no big jumps)
9th Na Young Kim (good potential, lovley lutz and flip, might do well here)
10th Julia Sebestyen (Julia seems to be coming back, the best technician)

Ladies field has so much depth, would love to see Korpi, Lepisto, Leung, Liu, Marchei, Gedevanishvilli in top 10 too. Do love Gimazetdinova's SP too.

I wish them all best of luck, I hope we have a fantastic World's where everyone skates safely and cleanly and get PB's..

Excellent way to play. I doubt anyone who predicted will get all 10 correct.

if all 10 are included, no particular order is the way to go.

I want to rank Davis White at like 5 or 6 too, only they were beaten by both Faiella/Scalli and Pechelat/Bourzat....Do you think they'll be in top shape and beat these teams by Worlds?

I did say in no particular order for very good reason....many of the disciplines are really hard to predict this year. Where Davis and White will finish is a good example of why. They have been beaten by both the aforementioned teams, but since then have radically altered their FD and have been coming on strong since their national championships. It's a tough call. On their side is that they were ahead of these teams at the last World championships. I know it shouldn't matter, but we all know it sometimes still does.

To respond to your question- Oda is definitely out. He took the season off and will return next season.

I thought that was the case after he didn't go to Japanese nationals, but wasn't 100 per cent sure. I remember hearing his explanation at the time of Japanese nationals that he didn't want to take the opportunity away from other Japanese men who had been competing all season — seemed like a weak reason, to me, to miss nationals and what would almost certainly have been a trip to Worlds. A strange choice for a young competitor on his way up.

You have to remember that D/W were not at their best early in the season because they had lost so much practice time during the summer due to Charlie's injury. Their FD wasn't very good during the GP, but by Nationals they had redone the whole concept, re-edited the music and what they performed at Nationals and 4CC was a completely different program.

So it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they could pull ahead of F/S and P/B at Worlds.

No Joubert or Yu-Na? Are you thinking Joubert will be out with illness and Yu-Na with her injury?

I think a lot of people are wondering about the status of those two. I added them in my predictions but who knows whether or not they will.

If Kim does not show that leaves the ladies field much more open.......
