Jason Brown

I really love both of Jason's programmes. And he is simply adorable! I'm glad he managed to finish 3rd and I hope he has a great season!!

yesterday at SA we got to shake Rohene's hand and congratulate him on these beautiful programs!

I'm even more confident after SA that the quad in competition is not far off.

He did a great job leaving that attempt where it was and getting on with the programme. He truly lived in the moment.

Strangely, I have a feeling that the first time he lands that quad, he will mess up the rest of the programme more than usual. I think he'll be so elated/wowed by what just happened that it will take a minute to catch up on the rest of the performance. I have no idea why I feel this way, I was just now imagining how it might be like when he first lands it and for some reason this is where my imagination took me. I hope I'm wrong!

It's okay. Doesn't seem wrong to think that. Because maybe one might land one for the first time and get so excited that they mess up...Like apparently there was a video of Suray Bonlay landing a 4T, though UR and she was so excited that she did some happy steps and fell.

I hope Jason does a few happy steps, too, without the falling :laugh2: I just know that I am going to scream so loud when he first lands it that my neighbours are probably going to call the police. And I live in the country quite far from the nearest one

CKH, I hope you're able take a moment at some point from your cheering and studies and let us know a little bit about your experiences watching Jason in person at SA :)

Omg. It was amazing! It went by like a blur for a bit. The SP was great except for the botched combo jump. Spins were so elegant! When he did his FP, I was pretty nervous for him. I held my breath somewhat. But that FP was beautiful. Wow. And we all gave a standing ovation. Also the tidal wave of stuff animals, blankets, etc came. Kudos to the gift retrievers for picking them all up and also to Ross Miner for being able to warm up around it.

Thank you! This board - and the world really - is often so negative that I just love reading about good things and good feelings. I feel a need for positivity like I'd feel a need for a drink of water after a week of wandering in a desert :)

ETA: I'm glad to hear he got a SO. From the videos it looks as though most of the people are sitting down? So I thought maybe he didn't.

I actually think your imagination is fairly accurate, because that's more or less what happened the first time he landed the 3A clean. It was the SP at JGPF 2012, he landed the 3A clean, and then promptly biffed his 3F into a 2F. I think he maybe had a spin mistake as well. It was a very *facepalm* moment.

In addition, he then proceeded to botch the 3A attempt in the LP and waxeled. So, even if Jason lands a clean one at his next comp, don't expect it to happen again immediately after. ;)

Much as I love and adore Jason, I have mixed feelings about him getting an SO, especially with a fall. The program is magnificent, yes, and I thought he came back very well, but I struggle with the concept of giving an SO to a program with a fall.

Make no mistake though, if all goes well, I can definitely see myself standing for it in Boston. I'd better get some squats done, it'll be a lot of SOs to give, with Max, and Jason, and I am sure Joshua's Pines of Rome is going to be SO-worthy, and Brendan...

You know? If that happens - and it is quite possible - I shan't mind a bit. It will be worth it.:) There's this great rush when someone lands their first quad - I feel that way even when it's a skater I don't care that much about; with Jason I'll just be euphoric.:) So, if he's a bit thrilled himself, I shall forgive him.;) (she said, magnanimously)

He really went for that quad, I thought - no hesitation, no fear! It's not far off, I'm sure!

It wasn't as big as the one for Max and Shoma, but there definitely were a number of people standing for him. He got a bigger one in the FP.

The chocolate bar states that Jason will skate 8th in the SP at IceChallenge tomorrow evening:

😋🍫Our start order was determined by which chocolate bar we chose! So first I drew it...then I ate it...and tomorrow I get to skate it!! #IceChallenge #HappyHappierHappiest! #8 😋

There are 17 competitors, so he'll be third in the second group.

The results page is not up so I don't know any other starting order info.

What a fun way to draw numbers!

I think this photo is my favourite skating-related picture ever.

My previous favourite was this one, which has also been my phone's lock screen since when I first saw it. I mean look at that sneaky little smile! "I landed it!"

I suspect many of you have seen it, but it is too cute to not belong here as well.

I just love the friendly sportsmanship he always shows.

Thank you for bringing this over - I was remiss in not posting it here as well as the other thread.

I think it's one of my favorite photos of anyone, ever. The photographer, Robin Ritoss, was sitting quite near me. She's an older woman (60+?) with long crayon red hair. She's taken some amazing shots, including this one.

I promise you guys I will have some more thoughts on the event, and not just on Jason. Sorry I had to stop contributing to the practice thread, but my phone kept losing its charge very quickly (needs new battery or I need new phone). Also, the days were really packed.

ETA, TMC I've always loved the photo that was your previous favorite.

I just love that picture. Jason knew exactly what that gold and that PCS score meant to Max. And Max knew exactly what that long program meant to Jason.

Is there a picture of he actual hug?
