The camera didn't follow him for a lot of his jumps but what I saw looked very good. His basic skating and overall presence looked very strong, as they did the first day of practice at Skate America. I saw a really good 3lo, and even on the two popped 1As he went in with a lot of speed, good height, and a straight air position. Of course what really counts is what he does in the competition, but it looked really encouraging to me.

Also thanks for the mixed-zone interview. Was that done right after the short program? I ask because Jason seemed so out of breath.

Yes it was after. He skated his SP. Luckily the organizers put the media level on ice level so they didn have to go far to talk to each skater.

Basically each skater goes to the mixed area shortly after they skate.

Only saw a couple of the last few minutes of Jason's practice -- fingers, toes, feet, eyes, everything crossed for good luck for Jason! Give 150% today instead of 120%!

I was pretty sure when I saw this mornings practice he would make a huge leap. I am very happy for him. He was so poised in the press conference, and sounds so mature. Whether or not he makes Worlds he's proved once again that he has the heart of s competitor.

You were the first person I thought of when I saw that he had made the team.

I'm so happy for and so proud of Jason. In spite of his injury he came back and proved on the ice that he has the heart and soul of a champion and earned his place on the team. I'm also happy Jason and Grant were named to the 4CC team and can continue their bromance.
